It moves, Sip...old age always starts the year after the age I am...x
You're as young/old as you feel...
I consider myself middle aged. There's a good chance I could live to 80 so I'm in the middle.
The torygraph thinks..."Middle age begins in your mid-30s and ends in your late 50s,...the average Briton believes that youth ends at 35 and old age begins at 58. In between - all 23 years - is your middle age."
When you let your age define you.
I'm nearly 70and old age hasn't started yet!
Really Netti?
Tomorrow....
You're only as old as the woman you feel.
I have stopped calling the state pension the 'old age pension' as it is appearing on the horizon now, and I still feel quite young.
Old is perhaps 70 these days, now that more and more people are living to 100.
I used to say middle age started at 40, until I reached 40. I then put it back to 45, but it is now getting increasingly hard to deny it (mid fifties now)
Impossible to define IMO. My daughter said she was middle aged so what does that make me? Don't feel any different from when I was in my 20s/30s though the mirror might tell a different story.
I'm with Hopkirk there.
I will only admit old age when I get my mobility scooter.
Some days I feel middle aged, some days I feel like a youngster. I have not yet got to the point where I have said, 'I am now an old lady.' I can't imagine I ever will unless I become ill, perhaps, and can't do what I do now.

Coming up to forty, I considered myself to be "approaching middle age".

I'm in my sixties now, and I'm still waiting ;o)
It's a bit scary to realise that I'm older than some other people's grandparents....
...and only ten years younger than my mother in law.....
Hmmm, I know where you are coming from there Boxtops. I had a bit of a shock when one of my school friends became a Granny......I'm early 40's!
