morning, Monday already, the working week starts here for some, i am about earlier than normal as can't seem to get back to sleep, so if anyone wants to keep me company please do. I hope that you are all as well as can be, and that you have a good day. Any plans for today?

it's quite blowy out there by the sound of it, doors and windows rattling, i guess this is in part due to another storm wafting our way.
though it's been quite quiet of late. Yesterday was a beautiful sunny but cold day, what's the weather like where you are?
Hello Em,
I'm shattered, 38c here today. Got home late yesterday after a fortnight away, lawn is knee deep and lush.
Broke the mower twice, ran out of fuel and the jobs still not done yet.
Oh,, woe is me.
But tomorrow is another day.

And you?
Question Author
morning 1ozzy,

sounds like you have been busy, 38 is hot, humid too i suspect? i am sure it will get cut, patience my friend....

i am hobbling around, just waiting on friday for my MRI scan.
Question Author
was it good to be away, a fortnight is a long time, but i guess it went quickly.
A tad more humid than most years, but the rain has been welcome.
I fortnight looking after my dear old mum doesn't fly by.
I'll be back at her place in a fortnights time.
Reckon this fortnight will fly by ;-)
Morning Emmie. I’m not an early bird but a late owl still trying to get to sleep! I’ve learnt not to stress about it anymore but it does mean I’ll be tired later if I don’t get a couple of hours! How about you how many hours have you managed?
Question Author
morning maydup
Question Author
i have managed quite a few hours sleep, it's just the pain of my knee that wakes me up earlier than normal.
hopefully you will get to sleep and have a dreamless one.

Question Author
1ozzy, i guess it will, still you are doing a good thing, looking after your mum...
Ouch, do you have some pain killers? I hope it eases in a while.
Question Author
i do have painkillers, but they don't work, i have tried different ones, but to no avail.

If I couldn't make an effort for the person that supported me for many years ,what sort of person would I be?
What goes around comes around.
Question Author
yes indeed, you are a good lad...
Question Author
how long does it take to get to see your mum 1ozzy?
5-6 hours drive Em, at a high speed.
Question Author
that's not too bad 1ozzy, it used to take me three hours to get to see my mum by train, and taxi.... and she was only 70 miles away....
Mum's roughly 350 miles away, no planes, trains etc.
It's a good thing that I like driving and we have some roads that aren't congested.
Question Author
it takes me nearly 2 and a half hours to get down to Sussex to see family by taxi, which is just over 70 miles,
Question Author
it must be a clear run for you, that's some driving even so.

whereas we spent 1 and 1/2 hours trying to get out of London the last time i visited family at Christmas, due mostly to constant road works and installation of one way systems and new cycle lanes.
I couldn't cope with the congestion you deal with.
The open miles and the ability to roam makes me smile.
