Can anyone help a complete computer idiot ?
I always download a couple of crosswords from the web which are in Pdf format. When I try to do this today my computer freezes ,they won't load and I have to log off and restart. The Adobe reader thingy is obviously not working . Tried a systems restore but that doesn't do anything either .I have no idea how to download another reader and am missing my Spectator crossword fix !
We use Firefox .
Any ideas ..thank you .

Evening all
Sorry I wasn't around to welcome you .I've had a bit of what my mother used to call a billious attack .In other words my backside doesn't know where it hangs :)
We had a whacking thunderstorm here this morning and it sloshed it down .I think it had been brewing and I brewed along with it .

I hope all your pencils are nice and sharp because I shall doing tests :)

Funnily enough this weeks Spectator Crossie was a bodge up .I did it then realised they had printed the solution to it instead of last weeks ,so that was a waste of a stamp.
I never did download the Adobe thingy .I've got Foxit reader instead .

Glad to see you feel a bit better Robinia .Can you see me frantically waving this custard tart . I bet you can :))

Hope Mr. Woofie is doing OK and hope all the rest of you are fair to middling .
Nothing else to report from Shaneytowers .I'm jogging along hoping for the best.Take care all and sleep well .
Thanks Kit for doing the bizz .I've done one sock :) xx
Morning all, how is everyone and their relatives? Robi, the lady who bred our weimaraners got a detached retina once. She drover herself off to the eye hospital clinic and found it strange that there was no patients' parking....as totally amazed when she was put on a bed flat on her back and told to stay there and not move at risk of losing the sight in the eye....and yes we would have nagged you!!
Kit I reckon Richard harris had a voice like chocolate mousse with brandy poured over it, he was even still sexy as Albus Dumbledore. I still cry at the end of the movie when he sends the peasant boy away from the battle so there will be someone to remember Camelot.

laters all
PS Shaney, I know exactly how you feel, its horrid when it happens and you are totally washed out afterwards...do take it easy today
Morning everybiddy!. I have just sat and watched Richard Harris Woofy. Fabulous. So handsome and with a voice like velvet. Set my Sunday off to a good start.

Shaney You're the crossie expert aren't you. I do the Derby Evening telegraph Cryptic crossword not very difficult and I only have one National and that's the Express on Sunday for the puzzles and reviews. The Skeleton scrossword is my favourite. Takes me most of the day and then I don't always finish it. Do you do Sudokus as well?
You keep your spirits up. I really hope things turn out alright for you.

It's a bit damp here this morning but I think I'll go for a walk before the paper comes, then I wont feel guilty sitting down for the best part of the day *~*
So glad to hear of your return home Robi ,Ive had floaters but not a lot don't seem to notice them these days .The Dr alwayssaid it was old age and in my case I believe him ! Thanks Kit and Shaney for the invite .Our lovely little poodle decided to go digging in the bottom of the garden -where she couldn't be seen- and came out filthy ! Mr.D not amused at her but did hose her off ,she'll need to go to The Pink Poodle Salon for a proper bath etc .
A beautiful day here today ,had a visit from grandson ,partner and baby Olivia ,I'm astonished at how accomplished she is at 2 months old -very alert and actually "talks "- no ,I'm not a bit over exagerrating(sp)! Love to everyone and hope all poorly people are recovering albeit slowly . Bye for now Dinner 's ready xxxx
Morning fuzzies....sorry you had a poorly day shaney, hope you feel better today, best not eat any cakes though eh? I'll remove them for you.

haha, that turtle is my mum Kit! (sorry mum, I know you'd laugh) It was exactly the expression she had sometimes & she always had her arms folded....and she loved Richard Harris too.
(yes I should have said I'm aware of many, many more at the moment)

Yes woofy, my neighbour's son, similar age to me, has got a torn retina & I know how it's affected his life...I must ask how he's doing.

Now where's my dictionary, if I start now I should be up to C by friday?....tests! tut...that wasn't part of the deal...
Dolly I still remember very clearly the first time my oldest 'talked' ...I think he surprised himself as much as he did me, it was so funny to hear this noise suddenly come from the cot. And my daughter in law hadn't told me that my granddaughter had started laughing out loud & as I changed her one day she let out this very clear giggle... I almost shot out of my skin. :o)
Morning all, woke up late today!

Poor shaney, yes I remember "billious" get out the milk of magnesia! Hope you are feeling better. I got my first heat blister on my finger yesterday, so I bit it , and it's on the mend as I type.

Hiya Robi, glad you up feeling chipper!

Hi Dolly, your Pearl sounds like my sis-in-law's poodle called Pixie, always into something or other.

Hope rest of yous are fine and dandy!

Morning chooks
Bright and breezy here .looks as if we're in for another spell of fine weather ,just not that intolerable humid heat though please .
Nice to see you Dolly .Sounds as if you're having fun with your pooch .My Mum and Dad used to have a dog that dug .Sue .She was a spaniel and a real thief .She would pinch stuff (usually a slipper and once a quarter of tea ) and take it down the garden ,dig a hole and bury it . She was fast too.She had my Dads false teeth off the draining board one day :))
Yes I like a crossie Jude and Sudoko. Yesterdays crossie output was seven. Two in the Telegraph ,one in the Express ,Daily record ,FT Polymath and cryptic ,Guardian cryptic and I've just finished todays Observer cryptic..Try the cryptic in Saga .That's a good one .I have links for cryptic crossies to print off so if you want them let me know .I actually buy papers for the crosswords .Isn't that sad :)

Hope you and yours are all OK this morning .Take care ..bye for now .
yay! this is obviously good luck corner! I just got an email telling me to go to my lotto account & I've won £84! 4 numbers! When I glanced at it last night I thought I had only 2...there must have been some floaters in the way, haha. Well that's a consolation prize for a crappy week of new shoes & maybe a handbag from the sales for me then.
I'm going to like it in here if it's par for the course...hope it's lucky for you all too.
*correction £85...that's a couple of custards too :o)
Look again Robi, sure it wasn't £84 million????
....or £85 million.
Question Author
Yay....well done Robinia .Enjoy .
Perhaps your good luck will rub off on us all xx
sadly no neti...two more numbers would have got me £7.7 million...oh well, I'm working up to that...I'm not allowed to do cartwheels this week anyway.
I hope so too shaney...we all need a boost.
well done, Robi, this the Nigerian National Lottery? Very profitable or so I'm told.
haha, once he learns of my new fortune I expect to hear from my Nigerian Prince any day soon jno.

Well I've finally caught up on the old thread...heavens to betsy! Neti in 'titties but no touching' clubs .....plenty of tutting tho'.... Sweedie snogging Russian women ...and what was Vinny on?
quote, Jude to Vinny ...."To be honest sometimes I can't understand what you're on about..."......hahahaha, (I can't stop laughing), I think you spoke for all of us there Jude.
Lovely pic of you & your quizzy friends shaney. :o)

re mr-rubix...not sure he's *that* person but almost certainly the same one whose thread I'd posted on recently & who was suspended a couple of days later...I'm thinking animal in the woods....
mr-rubix has been working in the gay scene for many years

http://www.theanswerb...k/Question917760.html

Who knows, perhaps he met Mr Veritas and Elsie there.
"animal in the woods" oh dear I am foxed! but I think jno is right, I think it is our dearly beloved and departed friend!
