Designing A Poster To Take On A Protest.

It is with some trepidation and the hope that Douglas is asleep in a lay-by somewhere that I remind you good people that it is National Sausage Day. The questions are ... what are your favourite sausages (thick, thin, round, square, flat, chipolata, German, Polish, Lorne, Cumberland, Lincolnshire, etc. etc.) and how do you prefer to cook them .. fried, grilled, in a sausage roll, hot dog, sliced with beans or as a sausage casserole? For myself, I prefer to fry them and then eat them cold.

I've not had them in ages...we used to get them in Bedford years ago. I'd have to get them online now. As for easily obtained, Cumberland are my favourite. The first English sausages I had when we moved here were made in the Herefordshire village we lived in...Braughing.
My favourite is also Cumberland. Many years back, before the Diabetes diagnosis, i spent a couple of weeks o'er the border in Yorkshire re-decorating a friend's farmhouse.
First port of call was the supermarket where Ian (said friend) was buying our supplies - enough to last as long as the job. At the butcher's counter, he asked for some Cumberland sausage.
The lady pointed to the thick coil of Cumberland and asked, "How much do you want?"
Ian looked at me and my mate/employee, stretched his arms out wide, and said, "This much."
The lady asked Ian to step nearer the counter so she could measure the exact amount against his arm-span.
We ate quite well......nom, nom 😊
