Anyone heard from Togo since he had his op, yesterday. He hasn't posted on the Cheltenham Festival thread which i find a tad disconcerting. Hope the reason is no more sinister than his having to stay in hospital a little longer than he would have expected to.

Togo - - is not... to go!

I cant imagine going to Cheltenham races the day after an op but I am an old stay-at-home.

can I say - oh was he in for - removal of voice-box? how cruel
get well soon
Perhaps he's feeling a bit battered. I hope's he's soon well enough to join us again.
Yes come on Togo please let us know how you're doing.
Fingers crossed for you. xx
I didn't know Togo was in for an op & send him my best wishes. Mamyalynne would - I know - like me to pass on hers as well.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Togo x
Hope he's home shortly and recovers quickly xx
Ken, I too hope Togo is all right. That is quite a serious procedure to endure. Best wishes to him.
He's back and has posted today.
Oh, I do hope Togo has a speedy recovery, great to read that he was on here earlier - get well soon if you are looking in Togo
His op was cancelled, ducksie, see the Cheltenham thread.
Oh thank you Choux, I hope he doesn't have to wait long for it then, must have a look :)
How disappointing and frustrating for Togo :(
i am glad he is posting again, was a bit worried there
oh that's a nuisance if his op was cancelled,
It is Emmie
Hi all. I hadn't seen this thread and the only reason didn't post yesterday is that I was having tests and interviews for a goodly part of the day with Surgeon, Anaesthetist, etc, etc, and the internet was dodgy as well. I just couldn't be bothrered to set my phone up as a hot spot for my lappie and took a chill. It was all systems go at 4PM and I was booked to go into theatre at 8AM this morning. The two days in there were in an isolation ward to scrub up and have minimum contact, to lessen the risks of mrsa and covid. I was all packed and ready for bed after(no laughing) being given an all over body shave and my 4th shower in 2 days, when I was told that the op was cancelled because there were no icu beds available. Gutted. This op was not a little one btw. I have called it a stent but it is much more. It is what they called a full Aorta endograft which was to be done in two stages over the next 4 months or so. Not without serious risk and it took a lot out of us, mentally and emotionally, coming to terms and preparing for the very worst outcome whilst hoping for the best one. Gotta do it all again now.
so sorry to read this Togo, what a thing to happen.
I have now read through it properly and thank you all for your kind thoughts. "She who must be obeyed" has been a diamond once again but I have never seen her so angry. She drove through Knotty Ash like Pat Moss on the way home Haha.
Rather than mess Ken's racing thread about I will answer his question here. I have not yet been given a new date Ken, but it is hinted at being within a fortnight. They have to contact me officially within 28 days anyway, even to tell me that they don't know when it will be. My insider "contact" tells me that they will likely ring me next week with a new schedule.
That is the trouble with stents via the groin, Togo - been there and done the shaving ;)
Such a shame to have gone through all that and then have the op cancelled with no guarantee that all will go ahead next time.
Sorry for your good lady too, but glad you have each other. Good for her driving rather than riding like Pat Moss !
I really do wish you well and hope you are back on track asap.
