Let’s hope this turns out to be as good as everyone hopes - one of the few genuinely appetising matches of the initial stages.

My money’s on Portugal - but Spain may either be a disheartened rabble or an inspired team, after the shambles of sacking their coach two days ago.

It can’t be any worse than this afternoon’s apology for a match - from what little I could bear to watch, there were 28 players all trying for the “Most Ludicrous Feigned Injury” prize - served Morocco right when (after endless time-wasting) they conceded an own goal in injury time.

I'm watching it in the kitchen with a rather delectable Malbec (as mentioned in yesterday's WOTW).

OH didn't fancy Spain's chances having sacked their coach just 2 days ago but Spain rarely play badly.
