Says he “wouldn’t want to damage anyone’s chances” by endorsing them as the next leader.
Kindest thing he’s done in eons!
I mean, who would want that sort of recommendation on their CV?!

like the premier league manager's poisoned chalice.......
The kindest thing he could do for the country (aside from standing of course) is supporting the remainer he believes has the most chance of getting elected. Just to be sure.
The trouble is with his reputation as a liar, would you believe anything he said about any of the candidates?
He's already damaged them in my book. Like I've said before, anyone who defended his actions over the last 2 years or so have got a ruddy nerve even running for PM.
Can’t say I blame him. I wouldn’t trust them either.

Lol, defiant to the last!
Defiant? Who are you? The head girl?
Surprised Johnson hasn't nominated Carrie. as the new Pm so he can keep his finger in.
Only because he is hoping for a decent job

God, I thought he'd left office.

Look at Johnson's actions, not his words. Action: he is not endorsing anyone as the next leader. Reason: your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps he thinks he could do a better job than any of them. Perhaps if a bigger percentage of Tory members spoil their ballots than vote for any candidate, Johnson will insist he still has a mandate. Who knows? One thing is certain: you can't be sure that a word that he says is true.
I think it was intended as a one-liner

lightly poking gentle fun at his own reputation as a liar, and lacking in honesty and integrity ( as if that is a suitable subject for humour)
16.19 Gulliver. Carrie is to busy looking at color charts and wallpaper samples.

I did say decent, not honourable, Ellipsis!
He wouldn’t go that far.
Loss of trust - such as happened in Boris' case
is a big deal.
you inevitably think ( make excuses). Am I being unfair? Is this a one off hem hem
the clutch that did it for me was
have we broken party rules? I know just amend them!
and
I didnt know about the Groper oops I DID know about the Groper !

I think it depends if it has happened in the work place. THEN when you see it at No 10, you think "no no, not doing that again!", "out he goes!"

whereas if you have led a blameless work existence, then you automatically think - "are we being unfair to dear old Boris?"
My god Fatso
Boris does decent thing !
Oh has be fallen on his sword ?
no of course he hasnt, chrissakes

I entirely agree - Boris shows his crashing absence of judgement yet again by making light of the career-obliterating endorsement his support would bring to the luckless recipient.

I believe, as others have said, that anyone from his Cabinet should be ignored in the vote - they are all tainted.

And how Sunack can say he will 'Sort out the ecconomy ...' i do not know!!

Perhaps he thinks he can do a better job than the last person who held the post for two years and left it needing him to come in and sort it out.

Oh, hang on ....
He wasn’t poking fun at his reputation - he was laughing at them. What a shower! I was beginning to think that such was the jubilation,
no one here would notice. :o)

Couldn’t agree more, because pretty much 90% of them were personally chosen by him to be in his cabinet.
How does that reflect in him? Guess they got fed up of him lying to them and sending them out to cover for and defend him on a regular basis.
What an unprincipled coward.
So not one of them gets your backing or endorsement? What does that say about the state of your beloved party, or more importantly your blind and fanatical obedience to a proven liar who covered for a sex pest?
I am sad. Boris Johnson is the right person for PM in these strange times, i still cannot see anything he did warranted him being turfed out of office. An interesting fact is the next PM may end up the same way, being turfed out by honourless back stabbing politicians.

Oh dear. Lying to cover for a predatory sex pest then lying about the lies doesn’t warrant removal of a Prime Minister prepared to carry out such actions?
What a strange world you live in.

What is a relative of yours had been groped by a teacher, then the headmaster promoted them and lied about knowing about it?
Would you still be sad that they’d been removed?
