Two words. Blue Whales.

Right ....
//In some versions of the Bible, Noah took on seven pairs of some animals, meaning there were fourteen of them.//
Camels got the hump about that (some more than others)
Would it not have been more sensible to have only animals pregnant with a male and female foetus on the Ark, meaning the male adults could be ditched?
//Would it not have been more sensible to have only animals pregnant with a male and female foetus on the Ark, meaning the male adults could be ditched?//

Wouldn't that lead to generations of inbreeding?
Two words. Blue Whales.
//Two words. Blue Whales.//

Creatures of the ocean, and hence, unaffected by rain. No reason to take them aboard the Ark. May I suggest a re-think of 'Best Answer'?
In the event of a planetary flood, where did the water drain away to after the event?
Naomi’s jealous.
‘The animals going in were male and female of every living thing’

Every. Living. Thing.
Ahh, that's what comes of believing everything you read. Not many blue whales in the vicinity .... I would suggest.

ZM, the King James' Bible says, "And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:”

Nothing there about any creatures in the sea being affected by the flood.
//both of fowl//

I'd suggest ducks would be quacking with joy at the flood.

So was the flood salt water or fresh water? And what did animals eat when all the plants were gone?
//The animals going in were male and female of every living thing//

What about the hermaphrodite species?
Can't quite believe people are taking this seriously.
//So was the flood salt water or fresh water? //

It was rain so it was fresh.

All the animals in the ocean died from the dilution with fresh water. Another ancient, whose name is lost to history, was commanded by God build a huge covered salt water lake on top of the highest mountain to preserve a male and female of every marine creature.

If only we knew how they were transported to the top of the mountain.
The Bible is product of history where old men told the stories to kids who asked difficult questions. They made up ever more implausible explanations so we have the ridiculous myths.

The Israelites were lost for forty years in the the desert. (It had been somewhat exaggerated over the years.) The kid asks, "What did they eat in the desert?"

Same with the Ark. We know that the number of people on board could not have even shovelled the excrement, let alone tend to the needs of so many animals.

Eventually the kids start asking such difficult questions that it has to be made a sin to doubt. So that is how we got here with religion running the planet.

I think the point of all these silly questions is to perhaps persuade some literalists to think properly about what they believe.
Aaah, just leave them to their ramblings. We can spot them mnore easily then.
What did the carnivores eat?
