Dutch isn't a language that sounds slurred, is it ?
Maybe I'm thinking of double Dutch ?
is this why the missus doesn't understand me when i get home from the pub?

I've just realised that it works the other way round too.

After a couple of hours studying Polish at evening classes my brain always felt as if I was drunk!
Polish is easy - the little girl who lives next door to me is fluent in it


(I lie - I think they are from Bulgaria)
Now I know why I can speak French and Russian so well!
Must be time I learnt a new language.
I speak Tanglefoot, Old Speckled Hen, Bishops Finger and Spitfire to name a few quite fluently

I've now discovered a slight problem with this 'drinking to improve foreign language skills' thing:

I'm now 100% confident that I can converse in any foreign language - but I seem to be losing the ability to use English!

There was a boy at my school who could speak Arabic while drunk but not when he was sober.

I don't know how true that is as I can't speak the language, but he does have an Arabic mum.
