How Would You Help

How would you help a fella with no money right now - but is a druggie and an alcholholic.

Would you give him money (not too much) or send a carry out of food to him. Thanks for any advice. His family has wiped their hands of him and also persecuting him for by. Take it from me he isn't all bad - just foolish.

Presuming he has a roof over his head, then a hamper/box or delivery of essential and simple food items.

Thanjks Eleena - he knows who I am but not where I live - my heart is breaking for him as his mother was just buried there last Friday - and his rellys really hate him but the way I see it - he was his mother's son. I'll think of something.

No to money jj....but anything else to make him comfortable...food, a sleeping bag if he's sleeping rough, put him in touch with agencies that can help...if he wants it.

Depends on how well I knew him and what I judged would be in his best interests. I certainly would not rule out money, even though I knew it was going on drink and drugs.

I would not give money as it will certainly be used to buy drugs or alcohol. I would even hesitate to give food as he / she would just sell it to buy drugs or booze. I would invite them for a meal and make sure they ate it there in front of me.
I know a man who is both an alcoholic and a druggie , I used to give him food parcels until I found he was selling it to buy drugs and booze.

if he's got money for drugs and alcohol, Conne, and a roof over his head, I wouldn't bother tbh....he'll start with a finger, then the hand, and then take the whole arm.
