The God of Israel in the old days would speak to them or even chastise them for their bad behavior so why does God not speak to us today. ???
A real answer please.

I assume you've dropped an aitch in your title.
Some on here would argue God does speak to those that listen
I have a spare 'H' here if you want it for your title!
Serious answer? There cannot be a serious answer.

Look at American evangalists and there flim flam, they claim god speaks to them and the defraud millions.

You take the word of a book, written hundreds of years after the events therin, that god spoke to people. I tell you what spoke to people then as dit does now. MONEY
Best to ask him yourself really.
Are you sure someone's still listening. ?
Churches/JWs/Christian Scientology/Moonies/Every whacko based church or semi-religion/Muslims/ are in it for one of two reasons, both which can combine.

The reasons (i) Money (ii) Power.

All should be banned, or at least lose their charitable tax status.
Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream...
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before us,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
There was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life
This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
My mum would say he does.

I would say he doesn't exist so he'd have a job talking to anyone.

It really does depend who you ask. ^^^ Both are real answers from real people. It's up to you to decide which you like most. I'm pretty sure I know.
I'm not sure that English is the OP's first language, or at least he says he's not well educated - so in either event patience is called for.

To answer the question, the information we have available strongly indicates that the God of Israel wasn’t who he’s commonly claimed to be. Since I don’t believe that anything is supernatural, I have my doubts that a supernatural creator God exists - but if it does, it’s not him. That fellow left a very long time ago. Hence his silence.
How true what the Bible states - many will not believe.....
He does to me. Initially his voice told me to come here to R&S in AB and convert the atheists. But latterly he spoke again and told me to forget that. He said, omnipotent as he is, even he couldn't make any impression on them.
patroberts, //How true what the Bible states - many will not believe..... //

Yes indeed. Pretty smart of authors with an agenda to say that – and you and millions like you are still falling for it. ;o)
So the policy is Sandy, if at first you don't succeed, give up.
No. He hasn't given up on any of you. But he sees my powers to proselytise aren't equal to the task in hand. He told me that I'm not fit to lace the sandals of she who will come to lead the Goodly unGodly to salvation.
sandy....If your God has told you to refrain from trying to convert the Atheists, I can't resist enquiring " Is this the last that Atheists will hear from you"

Ron.
Vivandorron, is that a request or a statement of regret?
sandy....My question was first and you haven't answered it.

Ron.
Actually Locusts, he does. Through his Word, The Bible, God directs us, disciplines us and teaches us. Read 2 Timothy 3 v 16 & 17.
God's words are not to be taken lightly. But the devil whispers in my ear, 'Eat of the apple. Go into R&S and convert someone. Show him he was wrong'.
I'll try my best to stay away. I can promise no more than that.
What did he say locusts?
