As God Left Us ???

The God of Israel in the old days would speak to them or even chastise them for their bad behavior so why does God not speak to us today. ???
A real answer please.

but we do see the air but we know if there is we breathe

we cannot see the wind but we know it s there because we see the trees

I only have someone else's claim that a God spoke to the Israelites. The word of someone with a vested interest in having folk believe. Why should I accept such a claim in the first place ?
