I note that that the majority of posters on here do not beleive that there is a God and that those who do , are deluded / stupid .

Do you therefore think that our Head Of State is also deluded / stupid ?

Yes.
If the crown fits.....
do you mean the prime minister?
if so, yes
sorry to be thick, you mean the queen, right?
The thing is as an atheist you wish proof, in the 21st century there is tons of proof scientific and other.

2,000 years ago there were no answers no proof, so something somewhere must have done it all. People lived in the main in small communities and had no education.

In the 21st century you can find if the orbit of the earth is eliptical in about 2 minutes, so as science has moved on and explained all these things that were once attributed to God, religion will not concede that its 2,000 (or other) year old view is wrong.

Do not be so sure that our head of state believes, we still live in a C of E nation and one is required to conform.
H.M. the Queen is caught up in an ancient protocol which she can't renounce
lest she lose her place, and cause an historical upheaval. Best to leave things as they are, even if they are anachronistic and titular only.

//Do not be so sure that our head of state believes, we still live in a C of E nation and one is required to conform. //

If she does not beleive and is simply keeping up a pretence in order to
' conform ' - isn't that worse than coming out and declaring that she is not a beleiver ?
No because as Scylax says you have to conform its expected. Same as politicians going to church every Sunday or christmas etc etc

I know you won't agree, and why should I have no proof, but I have long believed that the likes of Aristotle, Da Vinci, Voltaire, Einstein etc never belived in a deity, because they would have been killed or ostracised and ridiculed by society.

Remember it has only been the end of the 20th century that an Atheist could actualy be one.
I don't understand the purpose of this question. Are you saying that because the Queen was born into a privileged position it's impossible for her to be deluded - or that because she was born into a privilged position people must never consider her to be deluded?

We don't actually know what she believes, and neither do you. She does, however, have a role to maintain, and that is what she does.
Yes
"We don't actually know what she believes, and neither do you. "

In fact, for all we know, she might be an atheist republican.
.... but reluctant to give up the perks that go with the job. ;o)
I don't think all people who are religious are stupid in much the same way as I don't think all atheists are intelligent.
I don't consider believers stupid - rather illogical.

I mean ' stupid ' for having that particular beleif .
I use the word 'stupid ' because thats the type of word tnat i have seen used on here .

My previous post was in reply to China Doll
