17 minutes in he hits the nail on the head. The genital mutilation of children surely cannot be acceptable in ANY religion.

Cupid and Duncer - I sincerely hope you're happy.
I do admire someone with belief in a higher power.

Me? I'm a miserable sod with or without a god.
Mittens on kittens and warm woolen whiskas
These are a few of my least favourite things.
Cupid - “... Man makes problems for himself on this earth not God by their greed and inhumanity to their neighbour...”

I don't deny that man can be completely inhumane. But what's god's excuse for deliberately allowing people to be killed indiscriminately?

Plowter, as an avowed atheist, never have I been more misread. What in God's name led you to believe that I believed in a god?
birdie, why not ask Him.
Question Author
I have no intention of answering on behalf of birdie, but rather than talk to people who aren't there, why wouldn't those who promulgate false gods answer his questions instead?
At the end of the world I'll make sure I'm there. I'll have the stall with the soup and the 'I went to the Apocalypse and all I got was this lousy T-shirt' T-shirts.

Then you will descend into the abyss of fire and brimstone.
Birdie, I haven't the answers you want to hear. There are horrible disasters in the world. I have lost two friends to cancer this year. Why does he save some and not others, I don't have the answer. I wonder why he dosen't intervene sometimes but I still trust I will get the answers one day. We aren't supposed to know everything yet, that would make us wiser than God.Faith is believing
without seeing. You believe in the wind dont you, but you cant see it, yet you know it's there, you can feel it on your face, it blows your washing dry. You cant see electricity but you know its there, it powers all your household gadgets. Well I believe God is everywhere and he loves you even though you deny his existence. God dosen't cause wars it's mans suspicion towards his neighbour. I have friends of all faiths but its still possible for us to get along together.
I kinda like Duncer. But have to ask, is brimstone really that bad?
Baza - “... birdie, why not ask Him...”

And how do you propose I do that? By praying for answers as to why he failed to stop the waters from inundating the coasts of these fourteen countries?

Have you done the same? If not, why not? And what answers have you received and in what form did these answers take?
no, I have not nor do I know the answer, when I meet Him I will try to remember to ask Him to tell you, then perhaps you will get the peace you appear to be looking for.
Cupid - “... Why does he save some and not others...”

He doesn't save some and not others. Your premise is false. The reality is staring you in the face.

“... Faith is believing without seeing...”

No it isn't. Faith is belief without evidence. There is a significant difference.

“... You believe in the wind dont you, but you cant see it, yet you know it's there, you can feel it on your face, it blows your washing dry. You cant see electricity but you know its there, it powers all your household gadgets.”

The wind is detectable and tangible. As is electricity. Your argument is facile.

“... God dosen't cause wars...”

I never said he did. I said that he failed to stop indiscriminate natural disasters when it is quite within his powers to do so should he exist.

He doesn't stop them. What does that tell you about god?
Baza - “... no, I have not nor do I know the answer...”

Has it never occurred to you to ask god why he allows people to be killed indiscriminately by things such as earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, volcanoes, etc.?

Does the murder of innocent people not concern your religious mind? That seems rather odd to me.
Go on. Who was the scuddie in Mark 14:51-52?
Naked Boy In The Garden Of Gethsemane? Nudge, nudge, wink wink.
He was a naughty lad who got his kit off. So who was he? Go on then.
Say no more.
Baza - “... perhaps you will get the peace you appear to be looking for...”

Please leave your sanctimonious claptrap at the door.
you seem rather odd to me but I will pray for you, goodnight, and may the peace and love of God which passeth all understanding keep you and those you love safe, in this world and the next.
Mark 14:51-52 (King James Version)
51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:
52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

You dirty, dirty boy.

There is not a real god, High. It is really Satan with schizophrenia, his alter ego being the goodly god so many are duped to believe in. That is why there is so much misery in the World.

Actually, that makes more sense than the biblical tales.
//The genital mutilation of children surely cannot be acceptable in ANY religion.//

It’s not just acceptable - the God of the Bible demands circumcision of male Jews as a sign of his covenant with them. The God of the Koran doesn’t – but Mohammed, his prophet, recommends it for both male and female. Although fortunately, in the case of females, many Muslims ignore it, sadly some don't.

Cupid’s analogy between the presence of God and the existence of electricity and wind is spurious. The latter can be demonstrated to exist - the former cannot.

I haven't watched the video, but I will when I get time. If anyone hasn’t read Hitchens book ‘God is not Great’, I recommend it.
