Is it better to breast feed than to bottle feed and I only ask this as my wife is soon to give birth and I would much rather take your advise than the doctors as you are all so wise and know everything on this channel of religion and spirits.

All things being equal, yes, it is better.

btw, I am puzzled why this is in this category.
Breast is best!
I would have thought it was patently obvious human milk is best for humans and that cows milk is best for cows

Formula is the 4th choice of feeding for baby
Breast milk has all the important thing that a baby needs. It is also the safest.
As you have posted this under the category of religion then the response should also be religious and not personal. So there you go,

"Breast is best"
Breast milk is correctly formulated for the child concerned, it is automatically presented at the right temperature, and it comes in the containers fathers prefer!

There you go! From Keyplus’ link.

// Allah Almighty Commanded the mother to breast feed her child for two full years:

The mothers shall give such to their offspring for two whole years, if the father desires to complete the term.//

Note: //if the father desires to complete the term.//

Who’s in charge? Allah? The husband? Not the woman, that’s for sure – even though it’s her body - but no surprise there.
Place an advertisement in 'The Lady' for a wet nurse. Then you and your family will have the best of all possible worlds.
Keyplus, Actually, if you think about it, your link, which appears to claim that western science bears out the wisdom of the Koran, would be quite funny – if it wasn’t blatantly misogynistic. Breast milk was the only food available for babies 1500 years ago - mothers could hardly nip down to Tesco for a box of Cow & Gate - so Mohammed wasn’t being smart at all when he wrote about it in the Koran. By stipulating a set time period – but awarding the husband responsibility for the ultimate decision - he was simply using yet another ploy to control women even further. Nothing to crow about in that, Keyplus.
I worked in Albania for a year and never once saw a baby bottle fed (not to say that some weren't of course). My friend Valbona breast fed her little lass for almost two years, obviously less often from 18 months on. Seemed the most natural thing in the world.
hello oldman.

i do not have the knowledge or expertise with which to answer your question.

i just want to congratulate both you and your wife - and wish you the very best for your new baby.
Yhw-Jehovah-Allah and Abrham have misogyny in common.

There is no greater blight on humanity than the Abrahamic faiths.
The non religious answer is that breast milk contains the anti bodies that a baby needs to fight infection . . For that same reason baby animals in captivity are given some of the mothers milk whenever possible.
The only exception to this rule is when the mother has a disease which could be transmitted through the milk.
Nowadays mothers are encouraged to breast feed if only for a few days.
Not everyone can breastfeed, so a woman should not be made to feel inadequate if she can't. Breast IS best, that's what it's for - but I'm bewildered why this is in the religious topic!
Why indeed, boxy? :o)
I can only assume that oldinshorts is spiritual and is looking for a religious answer to boost his beliefs, otherwise why would he reject the doctors in favour
of us. Maybe his wife has a different view to his and he wants some support.

Either way I hope everything goes well.
Breast feeding is the most disgusting horrible thing ever. It's not natural and it's not acceptable in a modern world.I have had two children and carried them inside me for 9 months but no way would I let them leech off my body after that. Bottle feed every time. Both of mine had bottle. Both are big strapping boys.
Oh just read the koran thingy comment(won't qualify that with a capital letter)
Tasty, I hope you're joking - breast feeding is unnatural? It's what breasts are for!!
