On the andy murray thread, I was being slightly facetious towards Andy Hughes.
However, i'll inform you on how I feel about such a topic.
I think the idea of blue for boy and pink for girls is warped. Boys and girls can like whatever colour they want and ultimately play with whatever toys they want. On a barbie doll, it doesn't say "Not for boys" neither does it say "For Girls". Therefor if a young boy wanted to buy a barbie doll and play with it for whatever reason, they can. The colour of the box, or the gender of the doll isn't stopping them from doing that.
They still identify as the sex they are (IE, Male or Female). The whole concept of non gender specific is more a social concept and idology rather than a personal one.
It basically means, just because that is a dress doesn't mean it's for girls, just because that blanket is blue doesn't mean I can't wrap my baby girl in it.
It's trying to break social stigmas associated to gender which I fully support.
