I passed my driving test this morning. I thought I’d blown it at one point but alas no. 9 minors but hey I passed!

Just need to change the insurance on my car and get out on the road.

Thank you. I still can’t take it in!
Well i'd leave it on the road unless you've got a garage!
Congratulations, my 17 year old has recently passed his test and I know how stressful it is. Good Luck with the insurance, Sons paid £1350 and reckoned we'd got a good deal cos he's got a black box and is getting 9's and 10's regularly on his score.
You hit nine minors. How many can you get away with hitting before failing the test? :-)
Seriously, well done, QOM.
//I thought I’d blown it at one point but alas no. //
Congratulations. Self reliance but 'alas' you sound disappointed. :-)
When I took my test you could get two minors in each box. A third minor = fail.
Yeah but you had to be more careful with a horse and cart, Ummm.

Congrats Queenie.
When I took my tests you passed as long as you didn't hit the man with the red flag walking in front.

That’s usually a guaranteed pass......

Apologies, I’ll get my coat whilst giving a salutary nod of ‘well done Qom’ on the way out.
Well done you!!!
Well done queenie been a long time coming xx
I got one minor in my car.. but to be fair it was a Corsa ;)
I assume queenie is over 25 so her insurance should be considerably low for a 'new driver'
Scoring is complicated. You can get up to 14 minors and still pass but if any of those minors are the same type of fault ie pulling away, they turn into a makor and you can fail. My son failed first time with only 7 minors but three were minor fails passing parked cars ( he went too close) so he failed.

I don’t have a garage, but my house is off road but it lives between 2 sheds.

Mines is about £840 AL but I’d be sharing the car with dad and wasn’t keen on a Black Box. I’d heard a few horror stories. But I agree it’s stressful. But well done to your son too!

Haha Ken love it - you can get 15 but I think now if you repeatedly make the same minor fault up to 5 times it becomes a serious and a fail. Nearly hit 2 bleeding Pheasants- they have to be more thick than a Pigeon!

Thank you though everyone :)

spath yes lower but not necessarily substantial. My SIL passed his test age 26 and his first premium was over £900 for a small 1 litre car.
