.....and if so is it to

1. tell the time
2. as a fashion statement
3. investment

Just listened to a radio programme stating that the sale of watches is down as most young people use their mobile phones for telling the time. People that are buying them are doing so because of 2 and 3 above.

I wear a watch as I very rarely use a mobile phone. It's for telling the time, Although I did get it for half price when our local Jeweller closed down.

1 tell the time.
2 and 3 do not interest me.
1 and 2. Can't afford an expensive one.
I wear one when I'm going out but even then it starts to annoy me after a while. I find any jewellery / chains etc very annoying so dont wear them (not even a wedding ring).
Telling the time only. I buy a watch for around £30, it lasts around five years, and then I buy another one. I do not do 'accessories' to be honest.
! to tell the time and it was a gift
Yes,
1, It's quicker to glance at a watch.
2, Doesn't apply, not interested.
3, To some extent, yes.
I always wear a watch, even to bed. My current one was a present from himself so probably cost more than I would spend on a watch.
i used to till i had a baby - babies soft spots plus chunky watch do not mix

Snap Zac. I don't wear a wedding ring either. The only jewellery I wear are earrings
I wear a watch (Timex Indiglo) to tell the time, I only take it off to bathe or shower. I need to wear it at night due to my chronic insomnia, we have no alarm clock in the bedroom so it is the only way I can tell what time it is when i'm lying there wide awake in the middle of the night. lol
Hi mazie, hope you are well x

1/Tell the time
2/ It's Gucci so I suppose it is a fashion statement but my Nonna bought it for me and I wear it all the time. I have another designer watch my Mum and Dad bought me but I keep that for special occassions.
3/ I don't see it as an investment but it's a watch I will treasure.

xx

Hi Voddy. I'm good thanks, a bit cold though! (and you?) Back up on the 4th so maybe this time?
coming soon:

"Pebble, a Kickstarter darling, blazed the way with a much-ballyhooed smart watch with e-paper display which connects to a smartphone and can receive emails, control music and track your movement. Priced $150, there are 85,000 pre-orders. "It will complement your smartphone," said Pebble's founder, Eric Migicovsky."

According to this programme because interest rates are so poor, lots of people are now buying watches as an investment. Not the first that would have sprung to mind for me.
Yes definitely! xx

Great....fingers crossed this snow pushes off by then. (Look forward to it xx)
Snap to Zacs-master.

I wear one when going out and take it off as soon as I get in. I don't wear a wedding ring either and only wear jewellery (not a lot) if I am going out somewhere special.

I never use my mobile phone to tell the time. In fact I rarely use my mobile phone and when I do need it the battery is always flat.
1.
1 and 2 for me, although fashion statement wouldn't be a phrase I'd use, it's more the case that I like the look of it.
No never, I don't really like them. Although recently I've seen some pretty ones that are more like braceletts... I bet if I got one I would still use my phone to check the time though!
