It should be amusing, but it is really very sad, that ABERS on here continue to mock the One True God, and substitute for Him, erroneous comfort blanket arguments that in the short term give a feeling of security by virtue that they are not alone in their views. Even a cursory examination of bible prophecies compared to world events would sway an unbeliever, and the arguments for Intelleigent design are overwhelming. How sad that the cockiness of the atheists is based no more than on the drivel sold by the likes of Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking.
Do yourselves a favour, and go for the simple solutions for example on YouTube and hear the TRUTH about the limits of science, and the impossibility of its claims.
In other words, SAVE YOURSELF before it is too late. Please?

Let's see. The Christian position is based on what was written in an old book by bronze age men who presumed their thoughts were given to them by an otherwise undetectable entity who was responsible for creating the Earth and controlling what went on it it. God is described as a vicious vindictive misanthrope who demanded to be worshipped.
Many events the book describes are "miracles", events that are not physically possible. Many of the places described in the stories have no evidence for ever having existed.
Later another book redescribes this God as a completely different character and introduces "His only Son" who visited the Middle East and performed more "miracles".
Despite this remarkable life, not a single mention of him exists in any contemporary writing. Moreover this book's first known existence isn't even contemporary with the events it reports.
Meanwhile science is based on the coherent and consistent interrelationships discerned from a vast number of reproducible observations and in the absence of a single conflicting observation.

Nope. I've read them and read them again and they're not swaying me. The 'reason' (and this is a word that you might want to look up in a dictionary) is that they are nonsense. Name me one - just one - Biblical 'prophecy' that has come true and can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

Indeed they are. If you're a cretin with no scientific understanding or training. In order for 'Intelligent Design' to be factually accurate, we have to effectively dispense with the following scientific fields: chemistry, geology, palaeontology and physics. That's just off the top of my head. I'm certain there are other scientific fields that would be eradicated if we took 'ID' as being factually accurate - which it isn't.

How do you know that your God is the one true God? On what basis do you make that claim?

So then, where was this 'god' when millions were being slaughtered by the nazis in WW2, where was this 'god' when innocent children are murdered by depraved paedophiles, where is this 'god' when thousands are being shot, beheaded, burned alive etc by isis ....... I think all religion is a load of ***, and to highlight your //erroneous comfort blanket arguments//, we've just learned that a family friend's sister is a devout JW and is dying of bowel cancer. Because of her bible preaching and relentless affection to her belief she has lost all her friends and family support over her lifetime but finds comfort that she thinks she is going to meet her maker soon. Isn't that a security blanket?

My opinions are certainly based upon drivel – the Bible. I’ve told you before, Theland, if there is an almighty, all powerful, loving, compassionate god, you’ve got the wrong bloke. Read the bits of the bible your churches don’t tell you about - and then think about it.
