I don't do it anymore, but I used birth days of my sons, hubby & mine.
Never won a cent.
I dreamt six numbers one night ages ago (honestly), but they NEVER came up. Mind you, I haven't done it for years !
Since my departed father in law won it. We don’t bother anymore.

Thank you David small how did your father in law choose his numbers
lucky dip
Lucky dip at a supermarket. £5. Lucky dip. It paid off.
You can't improve your chances of winning the lottery by picking any particular set of numbers. What you can do, though, is to select numbers which, if they come up, will give you a better chance of not having to share the jackpot with lots of other people.

Since many people use birthdays as their chosen numbers, that means that a set of numbers which are all below 32 is more likely to result in having to share a top prize than a set which is comprised of numbers that can't match birthdays. So it makes sense to choose a set of numbers where quite a few higher numbers are included.

Similarly, it's a good idea to avoid patterns of numbers that others might have chosen. For example, it's estimated that around 10,000 people choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 as their numbers for every draw. If that set of numbers is actually drawn with, say, a £4m jackpot, each ticket holder will only get about £400. (Lots of people use last week's numbers as their entries for this week's lottery too, so that's probably something else to be avoided).

So my own choice of numbers is a totally random selection, which includes quite a few higher ('non-birthday') numbers.
Like others, I used to do it. Then I saw sense.
I've won 3 times in the last week ... a grand total of £13.90.

Lucky Dip or as it should be termed 'Unlucky Dip'......
Father in law became a millionaire.
These days we only do it if it is a very big amount and then it is a lucky dip. We do one at home though for family £1 a week. They each pick 6 numbers and the person whose numbers come out first wins or if there are 2 winners they share it. We all win more on this than we did on proper one.
I don't pick any numbers. I just have luck dips.
Don't do it regularly, started off using birthdays, now just lucky dips. Most I've won was £60.
I would agree with danny on this, just do lucky dips. Choosing the same numbers every week means that if you decide to change your numbers and your old numbers win the jackpot well, you can imagine how you would feel.
Back in '94, when it began, i used dates of birth, etc. These numbers have never won me more than a tenner, but i also do an unlucky dip each Wed and Sat - often winning another unlucky dip :-0
Theshedman; a guy nearby runs a lottery comp whereby each of us (and there are quite a few) choose 5 numbers, pay £2 per week and those whose 5 numbers come out share the pot. It is always a decent amount (3 winners last time collected over £700 each). My friend and i need the number 22 in this weeks 6 numbers (BB not included) and hopefully it will appear. Just as hopefully, we will be the sole winners. :-)
Doesn't Lucky Dip come under Trades Description? How long before someone sues?
Thunderball
1 line for each thunderball 1-14
use the thunderball number for each line to match the thunderball number share out randomly all the remaining numbers plus fill in any space left with any random numbers. Use this same board for all draws each week and you are gauranteed to win £12 with a possibility to win any other of the prizes up to £500,000
Ken - is your lottery legal?
"Small society lotteries – need to be registered with a local authority and must raise money for charity or good causes. Ticket sales must not exceed £20,000 per lottery or £250,000 each year."
Ken, we just do it with the family and couple of friends. Not big wins but usually £100 or bit more. More than I ever won on main one. After we started doing it I looked back at past lottery numbers for the past 4 years and if I had kept my normal numbers I wouldn't have won a thing but have won ours.
