The Club is now Open.

Thankfully, things are back to normal chez alex as far as t'internet is concerned and I am delighted to once again welcome members to the Club

Please make yourselves comfortable and I'm sure Matron will be along very soon with the usual delicious array of drinks and nibbles. (I have put in a special request for mini toffee apples this week, being so close to bonfire night.)

Talking of toffee apples, there is a bucket of dentures in the lower , smaller bathroom. All members are asked to check in case they have left theirs here on a previous visit. No double dipping, one fitting only.

Good evening Milady hope you are felling revived.

I have also made a big pan of black peas to warm us and have some used sparklers for the raffle and a packet of assorted wild flower seeds
Good evening Ladyalex - I am surprised you have made an announcement about the teef - thought you might be wishing to keep the toffee apples in house as it were. I am pleased things are back to normal for you (though boasting is not an attractive trait, may I say)
Question Author
Boasting ?
I haven't mentioned the quiz night once...yet.
Oh Milady of course there are mini toffee apples and of course another big slab o Parkin
Hello matron - trust you are up to your usual sparkling wit - well, half of it anyway ;o) Milady I must apologise for my non attendance last week - I didn't realise what day it was. The perils of old age creeping up on me (38 next year).
Question Author
I can always rely on you, Mamyalynne.

The parkin is delish.
Question Author
Apology accepted, Ena. I was almost entirely not here myself last week due to major t'internet problems.
good evening ladies...............what quiz ?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, for the ruffle i have donated...... a wheel from catherine,, some used bangers ?.................and a question. did the romans invent the candle ?
Question Author
welcome annesquiffy

Thank youso muchfor those raffle prizes.

I don't know about romans inventing the candle......the greeks invented fire, I think....
One's contribution for the riff raffle tonite are (drum roll please) a Christmas Pud, left over from last year - what year is it now then? - no matter, a pair of nutcrackers, and a goldfish bowl
Question Author
Areyou sure you want to donate the goldfish bowl, Ena ?
After all, your hairnet might rip and a goldfish bowl would make an excellent substitute.
Oh I hope I win the fish bowl, they look great with fairy lights in them,
Question Author
By the way, if you want to know what year it is, add 37 on to your date of birth .....
No fear milady - my hair nets, like my Lisle stockings, are of industrial strength. I thought the goldfish bowl might make an excellent receptacle from which to draw the ruffle tickets - quite transparent, if one get's my drift. Hello anne - I hope your well too?
Question Author
I think we can stick to our usual system for drawing the raffle, thank you , Ena...it seems to work very well.
Good evening, I love toffee apples but I think we may need some polygrip to keep the teeth in place. So for that reason I have laid hands on a couple of tubes of Denturefix and polygrip take your pick. Black peas are a novelty to me mamya, never had them before.

ttfn do I detect a slight fib on your part? If you are 38 next I think I'll have to start working backwards too.
Evening squiffy and gran, Ena 38?? round the calf maybe.
Question Author
That's a little harsh, Matron.
38 round the thigh, surely....
Hello gran! Me fib? A certain artistic way with the truth maybe..... Denture fixatives - something for her ladyship to get her teef into tonite - should be an interesteg ruffle to say the least.
Question Author
Hello , gran. How nice to see you too.
I must say that I have always admired your tiara.
Is it a family piece ?
