I went to church this morning in a nearby village at the advertised time, but no one turned up, not even the vicar. Once before they were late but this is the first when nobody came. Has this happened to anyone else at a meeting or service?.

It seems to be the 'fashion' these days, nobody turning up.. A few years ago, waiting for train home in Paddinton, commuters were told the driver didn't turn up!....

It happened to me once but it was fault as I’d got the date wrong!
Or dear William. Did you give yourself a sermon.

Our parish meetings are a bit like this. One of the largest parishes in Acres in Norfolk with the fewest number of residents! Often only attended by the chair!!
Aww, sorry but that made me laugh!..
Many are called but few are chosen
I hope you reflected on that
Not even a few church mice, William ;0) ?

Yes, many years ago I went to a Greyhound Race Meeting at Blunsdon - I'd got the wrong day ! ! ! ! !

We went to the wrong place for a funeral reception. Followed the sat nav as advised and ended up at a huge car sales place on a trading estate!! Found it in the end but it took along time.
Were you the only one waiting outside William?

Has anyone checked on the Vicar?
You say at the advertised time, but is it the advertised day?
Seems a bit strange that the vicar wasn't there.
Perhaps it's been cancelled?
Did you check which Sundays (of the month) were advertised for services?
Let us know when you find out what happened, William
My friend turned up for her usual T'ai Chi class - when she went into the building - not a sinner - just some security - she asked him - is the class off? - no you have got the wrong day. ooops
In a Miss Marple episode the Vicar would have been the first victim. Have you checked on him or her?

It is too simple a plot for Midsomer Murders.

:-)
Sorry, can see that Sunday arrangements are irrelevant.
And now William has gone missing! Aliens perhaps have been at work!!
did you send the parson a whatsapp?

And to add insult to injury , all the grub was finished by the time you found it
You are right Bazile. It was this time of year and dark when we managed to find it. And London traffic and headlights didn't help, because we have turned into country bumpkins. The food was almost gone and everbody was worried about us.
They all moved, in a mysterious way.
