Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers.
Time for all members of the Mad Over Fifties Club to congregate and make merry!
Our tailcock for tonight is Mojito Madness! For our Hot Plate Special a delicious Steak Pie with lashings of gravy and creamy mash with carrots and peas - mmm.... and on the pudding trolley there is an apple and blackberry crumble and custard (cream is available) of course there are our customary volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers!
Playing in the gallery are the Minstrels with the usual madrigals and fugues.
Down in the ballroom The Tone Deafs with a delightful selection of '60's covers!
There are roaring fires in the library, and also in the snug where any member wishing a bit of quiet can make themselves comfortable and where a nice tray of refreshments awaits. Our huge library is open all members, and as well as the vast array of books we have a nice selection of all magazines and periodicals, I do believe the latest issue of

Didn't hide behind cushions either............ can only be frightened by wasps and spiders

Alright alright, nungate, that doesn't make girls braver than boys though !.
Wasps and spiders do not bother me but do admit to feeling queasy at snakes.
Question Author
Nah, not too bothered by snakes either, just leave them be if found - and stay out of the hills in summer months when the adders are about (best to leave stones etc. unturned)
Used to have poisonous ones in the garden, nungate (may I shorten that to nun?) Had to check before letting daughter out to play. Luckily had a dog who would bark like mad if she saw a snake.
Question Author
Of course you may call me nun, a lot of folks on AB call me that (one has been known to call me nunny honey!)
I was forgetting that you lived abroad where venomous snakes are more likely to be found. We only have the odd grass snake or adder to contend with - mind you when I was at school we were taken to Edinburgh zoo where we went "behind the scenes" and the keeper had some snakes out for us to look at - we found out later that one of the snakes we had touched bit that keeper when the other group of students had their turn ( he said nothing until the students had left)
Schools and snakes! Was supply teaching at a local school where nobody bothered to communicate anything. Came around a corner in a hurry only to bump into a bloke carrying a python. Not my best day.
Question Author
Oh dear Daisy. I do hope you didn't have the hysterics
Teacher mode. Stock reply: How lovely.
Think I could do with another bucket now, please Igor.
And another bucket for me to, if you please Igor.
Your buckets, Tony sir, Madame Daisy. Can I fetch you something else?
I wouldn't mind a dish of apple and blackberry crumble with cream please, Igor.
Me too, please, Igor
Thank you Igor. I do not need anything else. I have however brought your pressie from Bournemouth. GD assures me that the best on offer is the all butter chocolate fudge. Enjoy!
My stars! Chocolate fudge? Madame Daisy I am overwhelmed! Thank you
Hang on, a fast motor bike has appeared !.
