Good job the bassist's wife wasn't on hand to storm the set and slap Will Smith.
Bass, how low can you go?
If someone mocked me I would be upset and answer back. But if someone mocked my husband who had a medical problem I would be more than upset. I can understand how Will felt and why he reacted so strongly. I am not saying that violence is right but sometimes we lose control.

Has the comedien apologised to Will's wife?

I have discussed this with my OH who once when we were younger hit out at someone who insulted me when I wasn't present.
1991? Even I, who am now perfect in every way, have in the past, on the journey to becoming my now perfect self, on rare occasions, recognised myself as being a hypocrite when gaining experience of a situation that I was previously clueless about ... and, as Will Smith said at the end of his public apology, he (unlike me) is still a work in progress.

Pat, i can only repeat what i said yesterday. When the 'joke' was made, Will Smith laughed. Then, maybe he noticed his wife's expression or maybe it took a while for the penny to drop.
I also said yesterday that despite towering over the comedian, Smith couldn't 'slap' his way out of a paper bag. Rock barely flinched.
Ellipsis, as it says in the clip, "One reason i love the internet, it never forgets." :-)
It never forgets, but does it allow for self-improvement? Over, say, the course of more than three decades, from your early twenties to your mid-fifties...
Ken I know the scenario and about the laugh before but obviously when he saw his wife's reaction anger took over.

I think it's a storm in a teacup to be honest. Will is t a violent man!! I admit to hitting our easily when I was younger and more volatile but only at MrLottie. But I usually threw things at him!!! ;0)
Is not a .......
I happened to record the Oscars and the more I watch this clip the more it comes across as either a set-up or unreal.
Question Author
Ellipsis, "....but does it allow for self improvement?" Apparently not. How many people have been forced into embarrassing apologies or have lost their jobs because of something they said when younger?
A set up as far as I'm concerned.
At least The Oscars got more viewing figures..
Question Author
I keep asking myself, "Why a slap?" If he was as angry as he maintains, why not a punch?
a set up? the foul mouthed outburst from Smith after the slap was genuine anger

Question Author
^
Or good acting from an Oscar winning actor :-J
A slap rather than a punch shows me he's not a violent man. A punch is extremely violent. Only thugs punch just in anger!!
Where was security?..
The look on his face when he was shouting was not acting. It was genuine imo.
Question Author
Pat, i did end my comment with a tongue-in-cheek emoji :-)
So you did Ken ;0)

different for men, maybe. Many men lose their hair; it's far more rare among women.
