While news is full of anti British trolling from 2 main News contributors we lose sight of what real problems are. Spare a thought for these poor people:

here is the full report I watch an excerpt on the news this evening, quite harrowing. People in NK risked their lives to get this information out there....
from here, there is none. I hope nobody suggests we invade them to improve the position of women: there seems to be a pretty good chance they have nukes and are touchy enough to use them.
22:40, Stop trolling jno, I haven't mentioned Boris for weeks that's your two best buddies. This is the sort of post we should be discussing in news, not endless repeats if your buddies' obsessions that have all but killed off the news section.
This is what happens to an isolationist country, that has no interest maintaining good trading relationships with its close neighbours, and its citizens told how important sovereignty is.
Can you think of any other nation that has deliberately made trading with its nearest and largest trading partners more difficult recently – with their government touting sovereignty as justification for this? And where many of the poorest in that country are struggling to feed themselves, having to resort to food-banks.
This is news diddly an the latest from NK is very discussion worthy and I imagine a change from the 100s of brexit/Tory threads. There are plenty of them if you still crave.
The OP is a good one, and one which deserves sensible discussion without being derailed by the great and the good. That, of course, unlike other similar sites, is not permitted by the Site Rules. At least we should count our blessings that AB's resident obsessive hasn't suggested that it's the SNP's fault!
The situation for the people in North Korea is absolutely desperate. It matters not one jot how far away the country is.
