but

there’s probably examples to fit any scenario that’s a teensy bit whiffy - for instance:-

Scottish lesson

the SNP is silent…..

Touche mushroom25 hahahaha
The H is not silent. So I doubt the information source.
Are not the BBC also silent about labour corruption, assuming that could possibly be such a thing (Shurely shome mistake, Ed.)
OG - Surely the 'H' is silent in 'honest'?

//The H is not silent. So I doubt the information source.// Sorry, but in Scotland the H is silent. Anyway, why is there an argument about a joke.
The H is silent unless you’re huffy when you say it.
I was taught at boarding school the h is silent except in names such as 'arrogate 'alifax, 'enley on Thames. Certainly taught 'onest and still use it to this day.
Who's 'arguing', not me.

No, not you wiltsman
Thank you 'maggiebee'.

I thought your joke was great!
OG, "The H is not silent." Does one pronounce the "h" as in, "Hour you getting on?"
//Sorry, but in Scotland the H is silent. //

Exclusively so. :))

Oh for goodness sake TTT do you have to spoil everything - even a joke! Go and have a lie down, it's obviously been a long day for you
Quite funny, Maggie ... the first time I drifted away from Quizzes/puzzles it was to answer TTT saying how much the English hated the Scots and vice versa .... one of the members commented on a newbie fighting with the "regulars" !!
I am being 100% honest (with silent H) I cannot see how we are supposed to know this is a joke. It's a snipe at something in CB, a political comment about something we know you don't like. Why get angry if some don't realise it's a joke. I still don't read it as a joke.
You believe it, that's not a joke.
It ain't a joke, it's not even in the joke section.
Are there never any jokes in CB?
