Deer are at their highest numbers in 1000 years, and will be culled...so patients in some hospitals will benefit. Surely a good thing...but there are some who believe lentils and beans would be better. Apparently it's a very popular choice in East Lancashire where it's been trialed so far.
Thoughts?

Good idea. Very healthy meat. I love it personally.

May as well cervus venison if it's available.
I see deer in the wild round where we live virtually every day. Venison gives me terrible heartburn tho.
I eat a lot of venison and stock the freezer when it’s in season. We all love it
I was offered eight legs of venison for £40. Is that too dear?
No idea
Probably eight different ones.
I hate it. I don't like game of any sort.
My two resident roe deer have returned to the wood. Hopefully they will escape the culling.
Red card for Lankeela.

I've only had venison once...it was a bad experience. First visit to UK with future husband. His mum served it to us...me, BF, brother and his GF. We all feared we were being poisoned...it was...high. Unfortunately future mother in law was rather lax in how she stored food. Particularly by my American standards ;)
She thought it was great.
I see what you did there, Lankeela
I can't eat beans and lentils. They flare up my gout. Very painful.
The last time I was hospitalized (heart, not gout), the only thing that tasted good was the fruit plate, made with fresh fruit. I ordered it for every meal.

It works out at £20 a deer. Have you got the doe to pay for them?

// No idea //

I saw what you did there barry!
Just wait until the Animal Activists learn about this. It'll not wash with them. :-(
I was thinking if I were on my death bed I'd return to the mother country, but, hospital kitchens are capable of destroying any edible food.
Deer culling has been happening for a long time. It’s not new. I will eat venison but it wouldn’t be my first choice. I see nothing wrong in serving it in hospitals.

Would your charity extend to prisons?
My charity? What do you mean?
