Deer are at their highest numbers in 1000 years, and will be culled...so patients in some hospitals will benefit. Surely a good thing...but there are some who believe lentils and beans would be better. Apparently it's a very popular choice in East Lancashire where it's been trialed so far.
Thoughts?

My husband adores venison but it’s classed as a luxury meat.
A lot of older people won’t/can’t eat it.
Perhaps they should sell it at a reasonable price to the general public and funds go to the NHS?
// My charity? What do you mean? //

HaHa.... Not the charity/s (as in institutions) you might subscribe to. Charity as in the 'kindness and tolerance'. An attribute which may or may not lie within your very being.
What on earth are you talking about?
Venison is not expensive unless you buy it from a 'high end' outlet where everything is expensive.
It's on a par with beef from my butcher, sometimes cheaper.
I tried venison once & wasn't impressed. Bit too rich for me - the taste not the cost.
Barry - it is dear over here!
Even bought it from a butcher on Islay - where they roam free ( and on Jura)
Bambi is a great meat. Had Bambi burgers for dinner a few days ago. Delicious. If it's good enough for Robin Hood and his merry men...
I don't like venison and can't eat pulses so I would not be happy either way.
Hospitals usually offer a choice. They're not going to force anyone to eat venison.
^^^you hope
let them eat cake!
I guess my 22:09 Latin Pun was too advanced!
Bazile, I've never known a hospital that doesn't offer a choice. They must - not least because some people, for religious reasons, don't eat specific types of meat and some don't eat meat at all.
Any much different to goat ?
Nothing like goat.
It's not like goat, bazile. I find it very strong.
Venison loses its potency when steeped in port and juniper for 24 hours then slow roasted.
hang on - I'll just go check on my port & juniper stocks!
I doubt the NHS will be doing that.
I'll stick to my curried goat , then
