quite ok, except the sting of being turned down for a Benefit i was expecting, now i have to fight the case, so that rather took the shine off things.
but having a birthday at the same time isn;t all that it;s cracked up to be, another year older, but wiser, pass....
I did the whole kit and kaboodle - family to stay or visiting, stockings, turkey dinner, crackers, presents under the tree, lots of booze, sweets and chocolate, party games and triv, most of that repeated on Boxing Day. Had good family time BUT I'm sooo glad it's over.
It was good apart from nearly setting my parents house on fire with the Xmas pudding! Could've been a very different story had I not gone into the kitchen, noticed the smoke smell and switched the hob off. The smoke nearly choked us. Had to open all the doors to let air in and smoke out.
Oh and I ended up getting a cold which I still have now :o(
Ours was great, the usual with all the family there. Working Christmas day and Boxing day, which I shared with my sister. I'm always glad when it's finished though and everything gets back to normal :-)
Christmas Day, wife and son went to other sons for dinner, I was on my own. I got up at about 2pm and watched TV, then fried two sausages about 5pm. More TV. No alcohol. Very quiet. Another son and his wife visited me for an hour about 6pm then left as she had to go to work.
If everybody else is happy, then I am happy.
We had a lovely time at our son's home being spoilt with gifts and tasty treats and then a wonderful roast beef dinner in the evening cooked by his wife. I didn't have to do a thing except relax.
