what's that ?

You could always ask Caran?
No.
U3A (University of the Third Age) is a UK movement of retired and semi-retired people who come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests
Of course you're not an old biddy Tilly! I have had a look at the University of the 3rd Age here in Dundee - some really good courses on offer.
What's that ?
just googled it... I'll send you a pink rinse for your hair and a knitting pattern for a twin set... lol... not at all whyever would it ? wish I had the time....
Whats what?
It just makes you very slow at making your mind up, Tilly!

I know Caran's in U3A and she seems to really enjoy it. Anyone else a member?

The local groups website is enough to put anyone off. It feels as if you need to crank it with a handle. It's so outdated.

Oh, Bienchico! Thank you for that. Deary me. Perhaps I'm already an old biddy. :-)

I didn't join then and forgot about it but now my interest has been resurrected, again for the Tia Chi classes.

Lovely to look back at the posts from Sibs. I do miss her.
My town started a U3A group five years ago and I have been a member since the beginning. I have made lots of like minded acquaintances and a few good friends.
Interest groups are many and varied.
It has been a positive lifeline for me.
I keep threatening to join Rugby Appreciation but don’t think I could keep up after the games! Thank
The ‘Thank’ was a paranormal addition!!!!

Thanks, Jakep, for that. I'm sure I would enjoy it if I did join.

I now have a bit more time to spare than I did in 2014. I'm just a bit hesitant about moving into that 'Third Age'. :-)

Creepy that.....!
Our U3A has about 300 members. Really very few are old biddies. In one of my walking groups there is a lady of 83....fit as a fiddle.
The only time the whole membership are there is at the monthly meeting and then not all attend.
The interest groups are from about 5 to 25 people.
I would really recommend giving it a go.

Thank you, Jakep. I am currently taking twice weekly Tai Chi classes at a local martial arts centre and the charge is £ 8.00 per session. The U3A one is 50p. That's why I'm thinking of joining. :-)
Is it educational, or just a dating and boozing club?
