Thanks.
From Police Scotland, "5 April 2023, been arrested as a suspect in connection with the ongoing investigation into the funding and finances of the Scottish National Party.

The man is in custody and is being questioned by Police Scotland detectives.

Officers are also carrying out searches at a number of addresses as part of the investigation.

A report will be sent to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

***The matter is active for the purposes of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 and the public are therefore advised to exercise caution if discussing it on social media.***

As the investigation is ongoing we are unable to comment further."
(emphasis added)
I missed off, "A 58-year-old man has today, Wednesday,..."
Named as Sturgeon's husband on the BBC
58? Must have been a tough paper round.
Dungeons in Edinburgh Castle for them both, please.
Someone has a lot of explaining to do :-(
They're little tinkers aren't they in that SNP!
That'll be why an arrest has been made.
With this looming in the background, would it explain Nicola's very speedy resignation?
That's what I thought Missterious.
It's an arrest so questions can be asked an abodes searched. Many arrests result in a NFA as there is no (or not enough) evidence to prosecute.

So at present this person is INNOCENT. Lets remember that, no trials by media.
And so it hits the fan...
Nothing has hit the fan at present. It's simply an arrest. An arrest does NOT mean you are guilty in any shape or form. Even a prosecution doenst until you either fess up or a Court finds you Guilty.

We are not North Korea or China.
'With this looming in the background, would it explain Nicola's very speedy resignation?'

I would hypothesize as much. Very interested to see how this one pans out.
I agree YMB....but it's fun to speculate.

I thought the fool she made of herself over the gender recognition bill together with the ball's-up she made over the rapist identifying as female was the catalyst for her departure, but with this news I wonder whether/suspect she was tipped-off her husband was going to be arrested could be the true reason.

Granted innocent until proven otherwise, but it would be untenable for any FM to continue while a spouse has been arrested on fraud charges.
//I thought the fool she made of herself over the gender recognition bill together with the ball's-up she made over the rapist identifying as female was the catalyst for her departure//

She did make a fool of herself over that - and that coupled with this probably explains the hasty departure. Crikey! What a mover! We didn't see her for dust!
