Have no sympathy with Russia and there appalling actions in Ukraine, but cannot understand how we in the west are openly supporting Ukraine by supplying arms and imposing severe sanctions against Russia, yet Biden is saying that if China supports Russia there will be consequences. How is it o.k for the west to support Ukraine and yet the east not support Russia. No abuse please just hopefully point out what I am missing!

You’re missing the fact that the west is a democracy and Russia and China are oppressive dictatorships. Do you not understand that fundamental reason for us supplying arms and the US criticising China?

Well emmie putin said before the invasion give me cast iron guarantees not useless bit's of paper that nato will never allow the Ukraine to join and he was told that is not possible to guarantee.

The Russians and Chinese leaders don’t agree with us because they have a completely different ideology about how society should work. What’s being fought for is freedom. Freedom of thought and freedom to choose who rules us.

Who though? Last night Russia was shelling just 15 miles from the Polish border and I can't see Putin stopping at Ukraine unless the west becomes actively involved - and then what? Nuclear war? Who wins?
