News comes in (verified) that near Severinovka outside Kyiv, two detachments of Russian military opened fire … on each other: knocking out 9 tanks and 4 armoured personnel carriers.

In the space of the last 24 hours it seems that the Russian State has blocked Western media sources including the BBC; Facebook, Twitter, and now YouTube.
I can't help but feel that this is the sign of a panicking Government that know it's losing and it desperate to keep control anyway it can. Because the alternative is too horrific to contemplate. I have been to Russia twice. I stayed with a family there, free of charge; that family has in essence welcomed me back whenever I wish. If this situation stays this way then I'll never be able to see my friends again, nor hear from them.
This is madness. Putin has gone crazy.

Petraeus had an interesting analysis ; Putin has stirred up so much hate that he cd never now annex Ukraine. I hoped it was true
yeah I read the Times report that the FSB were tipping off Z's men and (frankly) I thought the story was planted. Putin didnt want the experts to do it ( easy peasy) so he was using the mercenaries ( crazy mob) - very un-skripal-ish
