How many police were guarding Downing St when the Christmas Party was in full swing …. We’re they deaf and blind? Cover up as usual.

Naomi hangs head in shame...
"I haven't seen reports of non-staff members being there but I imagine IF a senior member of government attended he/she would have been head of the department, and hence working with them. The rules relating to hospitals and funerals is an entirely different issue and using it to score points to bolster anti-government sentiment is scraping the barrel."

Naomi, the senior figure who was reportedly present may well have been working with them, but the whole point is that it wasn't work and what they were allegedly doing was explicitly banned under their own rules. This wasn't just a group of junior staff who didn't know any better.

The rules regarding hospitals / funerals were brought in under the same umbrella and demonstrate the seriousness of all of the rules that were in place at the time. They are relevant here as they give context to the scale of the sacrifices that the general public were asked (forced) to make while the government couldn't even abide by the most trivial rule of them all.
Yesterdays news
Housebuyer, I know what the whole point of the bleating is about but we are living in unprecedented times and quite frankly if the petulant seek to disrupt the country even more by demanding either the Prime Minister be replaced by someone who will necessarily fail equally to attain the perfection required of him, or an election that will result in another Tory government, all because of an after-work get together that happened a year ago and caused no damage to anyone, in my opinion you need your bumps felt…. but that, of course, is just my opinion.
The Borisophiles are blind and deaf to the fact that the lies and deceit have become just as important as the Christmas party, if not more so. This is what is causing people to desert the Tories and the reason that Boris must be replaced.
And when you get someone who also fails to meet your expectations of perfection, bhg - because whoever replaces him will - there's no doubt about that - what then?
I don't expect perfection. Boris saying something true once in a while would be nice.
"Perfection" is not expected naomi... this was not an innocent mistake it was a deliberate choice to do something wrong and then cover it up...
BHG, you didn’t answer my question.
Yes, I did. I said I didn't expect perfection. Are you telling me not one of the other 360 Tory MPs in Westminster is more truthful than Boris?
BHG, I’m not telling you anything. I’m suggesting that it is not sensible at this time to create more disruption for the country. Personally, I think Boris has been dealt a very rough hand - and all in all, for all his faults, he hasn’t made a bad job if it.

Naomi, if you know the whole point of all the 'bleating' then why do you seek to defend them on the basis that they were work colleagues? If you understand why people are angry then you'll understand why that is irrelevant.

Can I also ask why you think it's 'petulant' that people want the government to be held accountable for breaking their own rules (if they did break those rules) when others who broke those same rules on the same day are still being prosecuted and fined thousands of pounds?

From your Markle related posts Naomi, I was under the impression you had no time for serial liars.
Housebuyer, I think it’s petulant because, in the grand scheme of things, I think it’s petty - but then I think many people are petty these days about all sorts of things. I know you disagree with me but so be it.
Mozz, I have no time for people who tell damaging and spiteful lies about other people - but you should know that …
Naomi is bang on, such a petty thing, who gives a rat's April? Do you people want to destabilise the whole country so you can crow from the roof tops about how right you are? Who cares if they had a bash? I don't same, as the 1000s of illegal parties etc that no doubt happened all over the country. We've let the medics and the jobsworths turn us into hysterical prannies scared of our own shadows. It was a year ago, we are now vaccinated, move on. The last thing anyone wants is more upheaval. Yes it was wrong, naughty, etc etc but so kin what? Ok OK I get it, 5th Col/lefty/TROB etc feeding frenzy like a kin Piranha storm. 4_F_S!
Naomi - I'm genuinely intrigued why you think it's petty that people aren't happy that those who make the rules don't follow them themselves (allegedly) while prosecuting others who also fail to follow them.

How is that petty?

I'm not trying to start an argument - I am genuinely interested in why you think that.
"How is that petty? " - what do you want to happen?
housebuyer, how much disruption do you want to cause to our country because of a party?
housebuyer, the people at that get together didn’t make the rules.
