Sadly there's lots that we are still not being told about with food and drink, to many ££££££s to be lost. Its a bit like the sugar tax, they go so far in the hope of shutting people up, in the hope it will get forgotten.
"By no stretch of the imagination can somebody who has amassed a net worth of £450m be described as not very clever.

That's just daft."

why is it daft? It is possible for stupid people to become very wealthy.
Depends on how you define 'stupid'. 'Amoral' or 'immoral' might be more accurate. If you define stupid as being unable to make money, then you are right. If you're happy with that kind of definition, then good luck to you. It's all semantics.
Holland and Denmark appear to be having the same supply chain problems, Ireland is on the radar too. Have they left the EUSSR? Get those free ports open pronto and get well away from the doomed infrastructure formerly called the common market.
What a shame ... No one replied after my last remarks. I had some points to make and waited for a chance to counter with them. I had figures from BIFA who predicted a driver shortage across Europe in 2018. Transport Intelligence (good job they weren't called Transport Intelligence Technology) also predicted a shortage of 130,00 drivers across Europe at the same time. Here is a little video that puts it all in a nutshell for you. Note @6.46 that there was a predicted shortage of lager in Germany, due to a driver shortage! Remoaners ... all back on the bus if you can find a driver.

Point taken,Togo. Now how about addressing the migration of European workers back to Europe. My company has lost about 100 excellent workers who all returned to Poland,we have the work and the export orders, just dont have the staff to process the orders.A lot of the locals up here would prefer to starve to death rather than working, unfortunately.

But the majority of them went home because of Covid not just Brexit so your point is moot

Not the ones in my factory, sticky.Everyone one of them stated Brexit as their main reason for leaving.Mind you a lot of the useless, workshy Poles who arrived here in Aberdeen are staying.

You answered your own question(if it was indeed meant to be one) with that line. The EUSSR answer as ever, was to solve the problem by moving it somewhere else. Import what they need at the expense and detriment of the provider. Perhaps if "your company" addressed the issue by paying and treating the drivers according to their merit and obvious worth, instead of elevating overpaid opinion makers to positions of influence, then the issue would resolve itself. The self serving tactic of blaming your own shortcomings on all things Brexit is slowly but surely exposing the lies and misinformation that was manifest in all it's systems. Systems designed to reward the bureaucrat by diverting resources, income, and social benefits to the 20% of non productive parasites who supervise the ponzi scheme. The remaoniacs will have to get over it . A good start would be seeking help and therapy for the obvious mental issues they are suffering.
TOGO 19.38 And people also believed,
what was written on the side of Boris's Bus.
You shouldn't have mentioned the bus, Gulliver, now we'll have to read how what we saw wasn't what we saw on the side of it.

I see Weatherspoons has run up a £155 million loss in the past year.(Oh,dear).Mr Martin is blaming it on everything apart from the main problem(namely Brexit). What was it they said about sowing the wind....

Sorry,no time to hang about.I have to go to work.Be back about 8.Bye.
//now we'll have to read how what we saw wasn't what we saw on the side of it. //

That's because it wasn't. Read it again.
If they stopped the benefits of those that refuse jobs then that would concentrate a few minds.
Why are there those who always love to knock tim Martin? Is it because he has become successful?
The temporary visas proposed by our government are an admission that it thinks that Brexit is a factor in the driver shortage.

When these visas are finally in place (there's no rush), apparently drivers will come flooding back to our shores, which they're prevented from doing at the moment ...
//The temporary visas proposed by our government are an admission that it thinks that Brexit is a factor in the driver shortage. //

Certainly not the factor implied by the Remainers. If Brexit caused it, unless all the drivers went home just last week, it would have happened long before now. Still, it's convenient for them to believe it so they will.
> If Brexit caused it, unless all the drivers went home just last week, it would have happened long before now.

Really? Would you care to explain, using your obviously detailed knowledge of international supply chain logistics ...
