P/M said he would rather see bodies ( pile high), than impose another lock down.
Boris lost his temper following a meeting at no 10.
No more **** Lockdowns let the bodies pile high in their thousands . Oh dear.

oh and "Gully posts fake news".....that's not news either
//Classic DM unverified "news"//

Classic gulliver stirring.
Gulliver, why waste your time, St. Boris can do no wrong on AB .
johnson said “would you rather see bodies piled high before a lockdown”

https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-denies-report-that-pm-johnson-said-let-bodies-pile-high-2021-04-26/
Whatever he said or did not say, there really is a choice when it comes to a third lockdown. Either the country can press ahead with it (though what the criteria for ending it might be is a little troublesome because we seem to have run out of them) or it can consider on this occasion trying to save some of the many thousands of people who have survived the pandemic but who have died or will die from other conditions which have been left untreated. It might be an idea to give those people (those suffering from cancer, heart and lung disease, dementia, to name a few) a fair crack this time round.
The story is now on bbc.co.uk, in a minor way:

This means that it's much less likely to be "fake news". I don't think the DM follows guidelines like these:

https://www.bbc.com/editorialguidelines/guidelines/accuracy/guidelines
3.3.2 In news and current affairs content, achieving due accuracy is more important than speed.
3.3.3 We should try to witness events and gather information first-hand. Where this is not possible, we should talk to first-hand sources and, where practicable, corroborate their evidence.
3.3.4 We should be reluctant to rely on a single source. If we do rely on a single source, it should be credible, and a named, on-the-record source is always preferable.
//Gulliver, why waste your time, St. Boris can do no wrong on AB .//

What absolute rubbish. I am a lifelong Tory but I have raised many complaints against Johnson and if there was a clear-cut case here I would do so again.

But at the present there is not. I prefer to see full context, too often we see people on AB, like you, jumping to conclusions without the full picture. And of course you never return to admit you got it wrong.
I am (in case you hadn't noticed) strongly anti-Boris, but I do recognise that the "lockdown or not" decision is extremely difficult and contentious. For reasons already given in this thread, there are side-issues to take into account, making it a very difficult triage to manage. Apart from his initial herd immunity decision and its aftermath, his record in this respect has slowly improved, so I won't be knocking him over this at present ;-)

Other Covid-related decisions are still worthy of condemnation IMHO (e.g. boasting about shaking hands with a ward full of Covid sufferers, failure to censure Cummings, cronyism in awarding contracts, tardiness and subsequent problems with Test & Trace). On the plus side the vax rollout is going well.

Why?

//If we do rely on a single source, it should be credible, and a named, on-the-record source is always preferable.//

So where’s the name of the BBC’s source?

And there are local elections looming. What a surprise.

It's only fake news to those abers who have been radicalised by the Boris and his Cronies... There is none so deaf as those who do not want to hear ... Its no good asking Boris if he said it because he will deny it, he has never told the truth in his life.
well call a plumber, simples.
you always talk as though you know Boris personally Gulliver, how do you know what is the truth or lies coming from anyone at all, let alone the PM, we all have to make a judgement call, but that's usually based on some credible evidence, so far none has appeared. I hate being called woolie, an AB tory, or worse radicalised, that denotes some form of brain washing. Like terrorists, murderers of the innocent, which we are not.
"If we do rely on a single source, it should be credible, and a named, on-the-record source is always preferable" a named source is "preferable" not mandatory.

For all we know, those who need to, know the source or if no, there might be multiple sources confirming the allegation.
