If it was non-Covid, he would be accorded a Royal Ceremonial unless the Queen designated the status of a State, This is reserved for the Monarch, Princes of the Line and those who have given exceptional service to the nation. During the war he was a first lieutenant on one of the warships and managed to foil an attack by the Luftwaffe. He also had to battle against his German relations who were on opposing battleships at sea.That can't have been easy .
