I'm 58 and this is the first time I've experienced the death of anyone so close to the monarchy. The news saturation is understandable but a little bit strange at the same time.

I liked Philip. He always looked good for a laugh but at the end of the day he was 99 and will be missed greatly by his family. I know the weekend papers will go overboard with pages and pages about him but I won't be following any of it.

I was in my car when the official announcement was made over the radio. It was beautifully and sensitively delivered, I was reminded of the times gone by, before we heard all of our news on the internet. Gentle times.
