Delays already building up.

What with 9 years austerity doubling the national debt it was meant to tackle, too little too late repeatedly on Covid, and Brexit consequences, the Tory Party are getting the country into a Right mess.

Never mind, we're all in it together (except the richest folk whose fortunes tripled during Austerity, but that's Tory Privilege of course).

My Gawd, how on earth did we manage beforewe joined the EU.

I don't think anyone doubts that Brexit will have consequences, good and bad, long and short term, however, I don't think remoaners predicted a pandemic that would have devastating consequences for (mainly) Europe and the USA.
They made our road all slippery as well the other night.
you sound pleased canary
I find it fascinating that part of the fishing industry is complaining....weren't they vociferous in wanting to leave?
At £16 a kilo for cod, or £5 for a portion of fish and chips at the local chippy, way out the reach of a lot of families, I couldn't care a tosh about the fishing industry.
//£5 for a portion of fish and chips at the local chippy//

Crikey Teacake! Where do you live? It's been more than that around here for a long time.

Canary, why don't you go and live somewhere that suits you better? You do nothing but moan - about everything.
I gave the minimum charge rather than over cook my post, but as you bring it up, that's a small portion, were the fish is sort of spread over the inside of the batter with a butter knife. Other prices upwards to £7.50/ £8.
Canary has discovered how to write posts which deliberately push the buttons of some ABers. Please try to avoid countering their cobblers.

Yours, a remain voter.

What do you mean, "Again"? None of the predictions that the various incarnations of "Project Fear" made in order to try to terrify the electorate have come to pass thusfar. There was always bound to be short term disruption. It was accepted by those who voted to leave. That's what happens when you have politicians involved in the free flow of goods. The closure of Calais before Christmas was nothing to do with Brexit. Calais is always being closed for various reasons, usually to do with their fishermen. It always will. If Brexit will teach us anything it will be two things:

1. To keep our trading operations as far as possible away from EU countries.

2. To wean us off the lunatic idea that a huge proportion of our supplies should be routed though one small bottleneck that involves anybody in France.
At the first hint of problems the remoaners will start wetting their pants with excitement.
There's moaning and moaning, or pointing out what one see's has a problem. If you don't moan/ point out a problem, then a lot of the time the problem will continue to get worse. Its a bit like eating out, if you're served up a load of rubbish, eat it , pay for it, and say nothing don't expect things to get any better, more like worse.
I'm still waiting for the war that David Cameron predicted if we left.

They were the days..fish and chips for a fiver..

Last time I went in a chippy.. about a year ago, they were £12.00 and we live next to the sea!
// My Gawd, how on earth did we manage beforewe joined the EU.//
we had a smaller economy and paid more in tax

fr'instance - the european cheque system never handled more than a billion a year. Last year electronic transactions were in excess of a trillion ( thousand time greater)

you probably really already knew that but pretended you didnt for greater effect ( and it is funnier if you say you dont know something you do - - side splitting)
// They were the days..fish and chips for a fiver..//

the boy in Kes pays 3/6 innit
( altho it doesnt end well)
Re the price of fish and chips:
I distinctly remember that in 1957 they cost 1s (5p); 3d for the chips and 9d for the fish.
// The closure of Calais before Christmas was nothing to do with Brexit. Calais is always being closed for various reasons, usually to do with Brexit. It always will be closed.//

how can anyone write this without a tongue in the cheek
to show the doctrinaire idle repetition of stale ideas who have had their day?
