I was under the impression that NJ was saying more or less the opposite of PP's quote, ie "Covid is always going to be out there [until a vaccine possibly] no matter what control measures are taken". Same with ymb. I disagree, but I thought it was generally best form to disagree with what people are *actually* saying.

no I think NJ was saying the opposite - not withstanding what we do - covid will always be out there and therefore do nothing . This is coupled with completely deranged views on computer modelling - to wit one run was wrong so ignore them all

If he wishes to "resile" as we layers say from some of his madder views well - - let him!
