"Does Boris have any support amongst thinking people? " - followed by a link to the Guardian! PMSL, ever thought of going into comedy diddly?
diddly, where do you think the 4th Labour leader to win an election will come from?
Yes, I put your full quote in but was commenting on the Times element..
I won't waste my time referring to your comment about Murdoch doesn't write the Times leaders.
He doesn’t.

I've been out all morning with thinking people and have only just returned to this thread. I see that there are still just as many arch-non-thinking-Tories as ever before. How the hell can anyone think that Boris is doing a good job when he has completely screwed the whole thing up?
diddly //when he has completely screwed the whole thing up?//
Balderdash, he has only followed the advice of the scientists who are advising the government.
-- answer removed --
Does the same apply to Nicola and the Welsh leader, Teacake who are choosing to do almost exactly the same. And Keir broadly supported the changes last week and wouldn't change the general cautious approach- he may even be more cautious- although he may inspire a bit more confidence than Boris does as people will have a go at him as revenge for Brexit or choose to comment on his personal life when they run out of points of substance
Germany have got the track and trace running like clockwork. Pretty much world beating.
"he has only followed the advice of the scientists who are advising the government"

This isn't necessarily a criticism of either the PM or scientists, but there is a wealth of advice out there, a lot of it contradictory, and you cannot follow all of it. A PM has to make difficult decisions based all that. You don;t just "follow the science" or you shouldn't
I'd be the first to admit the PM has a very, very difficult job and I don't envy him one bit. But I think he's making a mess of things even so.
ich, He is, or his advisors are?
Johnson is the man who has to make the final call.
He has surrounded himself with people, IMO, who are serving him very badly, in addition. You have someone like Cummings fanning the flames and a PM who can't seem to think through the consequences of his actions. It's a poor combination
Funny how they are now blaming the public for the spread, but not their lazy attitude to getting track and trace up and running. go go go on a staycation, go go go eat out, go go go back to work, what a ruddy joke this bloke. Will you please, go go go .
Teacake 14.49
Then why are they experiencing a spike in cases as shown on this link?
https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/germany?country=~DEU#what-is-the-daily-number-of-confirmed-cases
"Funny how they are now blaming the public for the spread, but not their lazy attitude to getting track and trace up and running. go go go " etc etc

This is why it's a damn difficult job, and where I sympathise with the government. You have to balance stimulating the economy, which is ultimately all our livelihoods, and contolling the virus.
My criticism would be that there doesn't appear to be a strategy within that:
- try and "beat" the thing?
- control it until there's a vaccine?
- just live with it?
It's because there isn't that so many of these things appear contradictory. It's certainly the case that other governments are also struggling. N
WHO, said in Feb/ March. Test Test Test, not rest rest rest. :0) Think Boris read it wrong.
Teacake, have you an answer to my post at 15.00?
If it worked yes? but it don't. anyhow whats your answer to world beating track and trace, or any track and trace going on for that matter there were 30 thousand people supposed to be doing it?? there's still 29,950 waiting to work
Teacake //If it worked yes? but it don't//
Well it has just worked for me.Try it again and have a little patience while it loads.
