Looks like we'll have no option after 24 July - or is this the time for civil disobedience?

Persons who help a deaf person in order for them to lip read is one of the exemptions to the rule. //

Thanks, I was unaware of that. Probably explains why my pharmacist moves her facemask down to talk to me, she is aware I lip read. She's still got a screen between us ☺☺☺
NJ, those Regulations say a person (P) has a reasonable excuse for not wearing a face covering if "travelling with, or providing assistance to, another person (“B”) and B relies on lip reading to communicate with P"

If I need to talk to P to give assistance, I can remove my face covering.

As discussed on another thread it would be good if customer facing staff could wear the masks with clear windows to enable lip reading.
I seem to be developing a touch of RSI with all the head shaking and shrugging I find myself doing.

I'm sure it would be a lot worse if I wasn't working and was able to fully digest information and opinion posted here.

Small mercies.
Corby - as per my 22.15. Would seem that some have posted without reading the exemptions, of which there are quite a few (exemptions).
DAVE , you had posted whilst I was flitting between the Regs copying and pasting the info.

It might be that the new English Regs will make it a wee bit clearer for the avoidance of any doubts.
The Scots Regs are clear. One of the exemptions from wearing a face covering is, "to communicate with a person who has difficulties communicating (in relation to speech, language or otherwise)"
Corby - no problems, I posted because it just seemed that the exemptions were not known by some.
Everyone should walk round with a clown mask on. At least it would brighten things up - wouldn't it? Or one of those Boris photo masks. Or Jurgen Klopp mask. Go on everyone. Let's do it!
// Well only if you ignore the fact testing and tracing has increased and oddly enough that will find more cases.//

Didn't some important personage complain about that very thing recently, more testing = more cases. Simple solution, duh ?

Please get your priorities straight. Pubs - essential services. Corner stores - not so much.
Anyway, they will be out of business soon & you'll have to go to a big-box store & follow their rules.
Jackdaw & TTT will get priority service. Take heed, you heathens !

Anyway, it's an exercise in futility, a bad joke. Some are trying, some are going through the motions, some don't give a rat's ass about anyone else.

Another thumbs up for 10C.
I realise now why the uk have to wait until july 24th july for the wearing of face masks to become compulsory . Because uk have to wait for them to be sent from the E/U , or China. Uk can not produce them .
Gulliver, there are THOUSANDS for sale on Amazon with immediate delivery via prime. ...and that's just disposable masks....scarves, biker snoods and so on are also available by the million.
Thousands on sale on amazon but none getting deivered OUT OF STOCK
this came up on my first search and as I said that's just dipsosables..order today arrive friday....but you know well that is FACE COVERINGS which will be required and there is no shortage of those.
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
Folk don't need to wear a mask, only something covering the nose and mouth is required.
Perhaps sticking plaster would be a good idea for some people TCL? those that plan to ignore and don't care if they get it and more importantly don't care if they spread it.

Wearing my flimsy home-made face-covering will do nothing whatsoever to save me or anyone else from Covid-19 - it'll be a token gesture to comply with the law (which is an ass in this case)
So you say Diddly (quite emphatically). It's your opinion. I think otherwise. Its there for safety reasons, even if rather late. I presume you drive at 60mph through a 30 mile limit, even if the road is clear?
Diddly, your answer still shows that you don't care a jot for others and you will wear your inefficient mask just so people think you are wearing one. That is worse than not wearing one at all. If you had the courage of your convictions and don't wear one at least people can steer clear of you!

Apc - I always abide by the speed limit as it's the law to do so. I shall wear a face-covering as it will be the (ill-thought-out)law. The former compliance may save lives, the latter won't.
