She needed to keep herself in the public eye, so shes now an expert in virology.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/29/greta-thunberg-launches-campaign-fight-coronavirus/

\\Thunberg said in a statement that “like the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a child-rights crisis” that will affect youngsters now and in the long-term, especially the most vulnerable.//

Childs rights ?, its affecting everyone.

//She's not wrong about climate change,...// She's wrong insofar as her criticism should be directed towards those who are exacerbating the problem to the greatest degree. That is China (30% of global emissions) the USA (14%) and India (7%). That's half of all global emissions. The UK is responsible for just over 1%. It could reduce its share to nothing...

16.15 Is that your input for this thread then?
Could we make them? yes. Will we make them no. That's why the virus along with climate change will win.
Teacake - I am a climate denier.
are there no small islands they could put her on..that need cleaning up
and ill kids like herself, who can get involved in mmm some environmental project for the island, all happy clappy together.
i do think she's seems the type to be so messed up, she would top herself..i do this for the voiceless.., but that's old chip wrapper, in the end..we all know it, an island project would be a good idea for her.

her parents and their friend need to keep the money rolling in.

Why doesn't she protest about FGM , child slavery, animal rights.
Fender - yes yes yes picking up garbage from the beach. Good idea.
//If great changes in how mankind lived were necessary to provide an environment where our descendants could live, could we make them?//

No. The kind of changes required would be impossible. We're seeing something like it at the moment with everything being locked down, and as is obvious to everyone, it's completely unsustainable for any extended period without countries becoming completely bankrupt and the way we live changing massively.

People are nearly rioting about it after only a few weeks, so it will never happen.

//She's not wrong about climate change,...//

She's wrong insofar as her criticism should be directed towards those who are exacerbating the problem to the greatest degree. That is China (30% of global emissions) the USA (14%) and India (7%). That's half of all global emissions. The UK is responsible for just over 1%. It could reduce its share to nothing tomorrow and it would make not the blind bit of difference. Of course she may get short shrift from President Xi Jinping, who may not be prepared to indulge her to as great a degree as some others. In fact I wouldn't mind betting he suggests she takes up sex and travel.

Nobody challenged her ridiculous "How dare you" tirade last year. She suggested that "they" (and I don't know who "they" are) had stolen her dreams and childhood. I cannot speak about her dreams but her childhood had not been stolen by anybody with the possible exception of her parents. She chose to conduct it the way she did and instead of being wisely guided by her parents or them seeking medical treatment for her as appropriate, they indulged her to ludicrous degrees.

Among her many disorders it is said she suffers from "selective mutism". She has my sympathy on that count but there are times when I believe she is not selective enough.
Loving the intelligent input from NJ. I seriously mean that, respect NJ.

Naomi // ..Yes, there may be more important things to get angry about, but whilst this may sit easily with you I can’t say the same. //

Yes, it does sit well with me because as I said, I don't believe she's being exploited.

I accept that you disagree and therefore are concerned about it, but let's not kid ourselves that most of the anti-Greta people give a toss about a vulnerable and unwell young girl being exploited. They don't. They simply don't like being preached at by what they see as a wet behind the ears kid. It annoys them. They've all said as much on here.
Togo, you forgot to mention the authentic steam-driven calliope playing, incessantly, Kumbiya:)
..I mean Naomi, look at the maturity level of the comments being made here - NewJudge excepted - it's pretty pathetic.

\\In an interview with The Local, Ingmar Rentzhog insisted that the climate crisis, not profit, was his driving motive and that he remained on good terms with Greta Thunberg and her parents.//

\\This means that if his network reaches its planned 100m users, his 500 investors can expect to start to make a good profit on the 23 million kronor ($2.5m) they have put into the company, he said.

"Our goal is to have 100 million users and if we achieve that we can. like Facebook, earn money from ads." //
I take it all back. Someone's posted a link to something off the internet. lol.
Tickles me, the cries for this young woman to go back to school and supposedly grown(?) men stoop to calling her 'Grunta'.

You call this serious discussion?
...and the harder you kick the teenager, the more likely you are to get a BA it seems. Very sad.

There is some drivel being spouted, but mostly on here.
// supposedly grown(?) men stoop to calling her 'Grunta'. //

Playground bullies that never grew up, just got older.
Agree Mamyalynne, grown men resorting to name calling. Just like back in their playground days. Think they're scared because this young lass shows them up.

If you say "gullible" really slowly it sounds like oranges.
