She needed to keep herself in the public eye, so shes now an expert in virology.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/29/greta-thunberg-launches-campaign-fight-coronavirus/

\\Thunberg said in a statement that “like the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a child-rights crisis” that will affect youngsters now and in the long-term, especially the most vulnerable.//

Childs rights ?, its affecting everyone.

//She's not wrong about climate change,...// She's wrong insofar as her criticism should be directed towards those who are exacerbating the problem to the greatest degree. That is China (30% of global emissions) the USA (14%) and India (7%). That's half of all global emissions. The UK is responsible for just over 1%. It could reduce its share to nothing...

Think Greta knows exactly what she is doing and the impact it will have. Why is there so much suspicion and derision if a young person dares to speak out? She will be around long after all the old fogies on here have popped their clogs. Go girl!
maggiebee, you have to remember the average of ABers is 83½ (scientifically proven).
As a teenager she should launch campaigns regarding teenage pregnancies and STD's.
Young girls are better in school like Greta, or not like Greta.
average *age*
Each and every one is allowed to campaign,to draw attention in any way we can to any cause we wish or we could always just opt to slate those who do.
//you have to remember the average of ABers is 83½ (scientifically proven).//

IQ?
She 'should' Theland?

Isn't that her decision ,who and what she campaigns for?
It's worth pointing out, of course, that it's very difficult for most people to be in school right now anyway.
Yes, that too, Mozz.

Who knows Maggie. As I said though, it's quite fun to watch them all foaming at the mouth whenever she's in the news. You'd think there'd be more important things to get angry about.
It's important to stay away from trying to change the world from the better until the age of 21.
The problem is the following such campaigners get, numpty sheep catching on to what is fashionable.
Why not women's rights in the Muslim countries, coal power!in China, or wet markets all over south east Asia?
The next pandemic will do far more damage than Carbon dioxide.
Ah, yes, the *real* flaw in Greta Thunberg is that she's too timid to try and change the entire world single-handedly, and instead is deciding to focus on a mere handful of major issues.
@ fruitcake

"Well nj has listed a whole host of problems she may or may not have, and may be wrong about"

so youre saying that her own mother is wrong and or lying ?

"extract from a new book by Ms Thunberg's mother. In it she provided an insight into the condition of her daughter. I won't go into great detail but her mother made it quite clear - as I have suggested many times - that her daughter has serious psychiatric issues. She has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, she suffers from Asperger's, has an irrational feeling of victimhood and is still in the throes of a serious eating disorder,"

understanding the written word is obviously not one of your strong points...own goal.....yet again
tomus, I get angry when I see a clearly vulnerable young girl becoming hysterical over something she’s been primed to obsess about. She is being exploited - and not only by the obvious suspects. Her supporters who encourage her are just as culpable. Yes, there may be more important things to get angry about, but whilst this may sit easily with you I can’t say the same.
When push comes to shove, old people hate being lectured to by young people. The message is irrelevant, they can't get past WHO is saying these things, it makes them care little for WHAT is being said.

If she started campaigning ffor those causes mentioned by Theland, they will still continue to throw shade at her.
Jim - Yeah your probably right.
The real fault is the media.
Why report on the dominos falling as a result of a virus caused by wet markets?
Greta should show us some respect and be quiet until she has a PhD in her chosen science.
She's not wrong about climate change. End of.
Some nice causes there Theland - get working on them and I will back you 100%
I'm sure lots were being accused of being hysterical on here some months ago about covid, some even said it will all blow over in two weeks. Won't mention any names . :0)
