My response in the Greta thread was removed, for some reason. I said that climate change was natural. The Earth is still emerging from the last ice age and is warming up naturally. One example of this can be seen on Romney Marsh, which is gradually sinking into the sea. This is due to a geological process called post-glacial bounce back, where the mountains in the north of the UK are still rising after being covered with huge glaciers. As they gradually rise, they drag down the extremities and this can be seen on Romney Marsh. The sun is the main factor with climate change, along with volcanoes. How do you stop either from affecting the planet?

Post-glacial rebound actually . Climate Change can be caused by natural processes like volcanic eruptions, variations in the sun’s intensity, or very slow changes in ocean circulation or land surfaces which occur on time scales of decades, centuries or longer.
But humans also cause climates to change by releasing greenhouse gases and aerosols into the atmosphere, by changing land surfaces, and by depleting the stratospheric ozone layer. Both natural and human factors that can cause climate change are called ‘climate forcings’, since they push, or ‘force’ the’ climate to shift to new values.

Thanks for that. Climate change has no importance for me. Pollution and deforestation are more concerning.
You can't. And poncing about with different light bulbs won't.

I always chuckle when I read of the "summits" where the participants agree to limit temperature rises to one degree or whatever. I recall an anecdote concerning a certain Danish king who demonstrated to his lackeys that mankind had no such control over the elements.
//Pollution and deforestation are more concerning.//

Over-population (the root cause of the above and much more) is more of a concern to me.
….and I thought dinosaurs were extinct.....

I don't suppose many on here are bothered about climate change as they'll be long gone before we see a substantial change, but we should be leaving our environment for our grandchildren how we found it -which was not seas bubbling with plastic. That's what concerns me most -plastic pollution. The earth has been warming up since the last Ice Age and that doesn't concern me other than humanity will have to accommodate Mother Earth rather than the other way around.
The reason it was removed is because the claim that humans aren't responsible for Climate Change is pseudoscientific and flies in the face of the available evidence. See, for example, the most recent IPCC report which lays out the present picture in detail. In particular the idea that volcanoes are in any sense the "main factor" is not remotely true: human greenhouse gas emissions dwarf volcanic emissions by a factor of as much as 100:1 on average.
Climate change can be natural in origin, but it would still be something of a disaster. However this recent rise is too unusual and too good a match to human activity to take any claim of no connection seriously. We get things wrong when we aren't aware of some facts & consequences, and sometimes need to turn things around, together, across the globe.

That's the reason the post was removed, Jim? Really? I see no rules broken there. Tell us more.
She’s being *used* by her eco warrior parents, she’ll burn out soon I fear
We'll wait to see if Ab Editor says any more about it.
You know an AB Editor won't discuss a removal, but you seem to know why.

Now that's odd Jim.
Jim, Why do you think a post expressing an opinion opposing yours is a reason to remove that post?
Who’s odd jim?
Not particularly odd, Mamya. I spoke to the Editor about it. I'm hopeful that the conversation with the Editor will be made public but that's up to Ab Editor.
I shall subscribe to this thread then, am intrigued.
If Jim has convinced the editor to remove opinions that oppose his, I'm not intrigued. I'm appalled!
//The reason it was removed is because the claim that humans aren't responsible for Climate Change is pseudoscientific and flies in the face of the available evidence.//

So it cannot be promulgated then? Bit like holocaust denial being illegal in some countries?

Lots of people put forward points of view that "fly in the face of the available evidence". I'd hate for them all to be silenced on the basis that "I'm right and that's it". If there was a post that said the Earth is round (or, more precisely, an oblate spheroid) and I said no it's not it's flat, would it be removed on the same basis? Or is it only things that are contentious and debateable where we must all be on the same message?

Thanks for keeping it warm, zacs.
