Emmie 11.27 , It ain't so much hating Blair, The one you have got to be frightened of now is The Enemy Within, Dominic Cummings he is going to be the uprising of hitler, as Boris said yesterday " You ain't seen nothing yet" .
He can feck right off. If I want to watch a war criminal, I'll watch something about the Nazis on the History Channel
"he is going to be the uprising of hitler"

Godwin's Law writ large!
Indeed so: but actually although it pains me to say it, as Gromit points out, even for those who oppose Brexit and the Tory approach to governing, there are upsides to the result.
Although it is worth pointing out that the result shows how divided the UK as a whole is.
There are very good people in the Labour Party but it’s not easy to see just now how they can come to the fore.
what's Hitler got to to do with it....
Sorry, my “indeed so” was to Ludwig @12.00

//what's Hitler got to to do with it...//

Emmie
I suspect that gulliver fled the UK on the advice of Lord Halifax in 1939. He hasn't yet realised the war is over. :-)
Ichkeria, //There are very good people in the Labour Party but it’s not easy to see just now how they can come to the fore. //

I don't believe they can. Labour gives no indication of changing tack and is, therefore, beyond the point of no return. The electorate simply doesn't want what they're offering.
retro, looks like you might be right....lol
//what's Hitler got to to do with it//
What's Hitler but a second-class dictator.
What's Hitler got to do, got to do with it?
Who needs Hitler whan Blair's on television...

(Sorry Tina)
mozz: "He can feck right off. If I want to watch a war criminal, I'll watch something about the Nazis on the History Channel " - and I had you down as a Noo Laybore man through and through!
// beyond the point of no return. //

They said that about Labour in 1979 and they returned, but it did take 18 years.
They said it about the The Tories in 1997 and they returned 13 years later.

It is clear that large majorities take several elections to overturn, but Labour will return, just not for a long time.
ich: "Although it is worth pointing out that the result shows how divided the UK as a whole is" - err they just gave one side a thumping majority ich. Face it Brexit is getting done.
Not sure labour are going to benefit from anything His Tonyness says.

In this case he is right, but he is so toxic people just switch off.

The reality is that most people dont want Marxism any more than they want fascism. Until labour understand that then they are going nowhere especially with BoJo seeming to be promoting the small c conservationism that many of us would like them to do
3T- //and I had you down as a Noo Laybore man through and through//

Naw, my Labour party died with John Smith. I voted for him when he first got in, but defected to Green for his second term.
well shree got away with £50m
and he didnt get prosecuted for war crimes - so really they did quite well

Blair took Labour to the centre to get elected. After 13 years of Blair/Brown, Cameron did the same (to a lesser extent) and took the Tories to the centre.
What is different this time is that Johnson has taken the Tories further to the right again, but has got elected.
No, if you look at BoJo's policies there are plenty in there to tick the box of those of us Tories who want to be conservative with a concience.

Call me Dave and Treason were both part of the Metropolitan liberal elite (as is Bliar) That is what moderate left and moderate right despise.
//What is different this time is that Johnson has taken the Tories further to the right again, but has got elected//

In fairness to Boris (never thought I'd be using those words), even hes more central than Jezza is.
Mozz71

No one is saying Corbyn is centre, quite the opposite.
The mini debate here is whether the Conservatives still occupy the centre ground where Cameron placed them, or whether they have gone a lot more rightward under Boris.
