Jack: "I would now like to see her go back to the EU and tell them that she tried it their way and the country (via Parliament) rejected it and now we'll be doing it our own way.
They'll either start to make concessions not on offer before OR dig their heels in.
I certainly believe that we are strong enough as a nation to 'go it alone' and then forge our own deals across the world. " - bang on, by it's intransigence the EU is pushing us to no deal and unless they give some ground on the whole backstop shambles etc we should take our chances with that.
TTT, Just watched the EU Parliament in action and nearly all of the MEP's are saying that the UK should be given more time to decide what we want.
Which seems to suggest that an extension of A50 may well be possible. And round we'll go again...

How exhausting and miserable.
the UK wouldn't need more time if they hadn't charged into Article 50 without thinking. Neither before nor after the referendum did anyone stop to think things through.
//MEP's are saying that the UK should be given more time to decide what we want. //

Since Europe has said that no further negotiation is possible, that can mean only one of two things. We stay on their terms - or we detach ourselves completely.
More time?? It's been nearly 3 years and we've got literally, no where.

Naomi, the reason they want to give us more time is so that we can decide what we want.
I rather think that the offer of more time is so that we can decide what they want us to decide...
JTH, they obviously want us to stay in the EU.
danny, I know.
I wonder how many people who voted for brexit are now dead, and how many people who were too young to vote now can.
I dare say they do, but as a second preference I'm sure that, like everyone else, the EU would rather see the situation resolved sooner rather than later.

09.04, We are in a state of crisis !.
Not yet.
//I'm sure that, like everyone else, the EU would rather see the situation resolved sooner rather than later.//

I don't have your faith. The EU hasn't been what you could call helpful so far. I think it is quite happy to bide its time to get what it wants – and there’s every chance it will succeed.
Theresa May wins tonights vote!

Confirming that we have confidence in her incompetitance.

Let’s go rule the world again.

Well, I'm sure that the first preference for the EU would clearly be to get what it wants, but it will be at least tempered by a desire (on both sides!) not to drag the thing out indefinitely.

That, incidentally, is the great lie about Brexit supporters who hated this deal and the backstop. There are plenty of things wrong with the deal, and I cannot support it, but the idea that it would lead to the UK being trapped inside the backstop forever was not one of them. It would suit nobody to have the situation never resolved.

Not, I hasten to add, that I supported this deal. But I fear that some Brexit supporters are too wedded to the idea that the EU is an adversary to be willing to ever compromise.

So, in that sense, yes, there appear to be only two achievable outcomes left.

Confirming that parliament is inhabited by a bunch of disingenuous cowards who can do no better than feign confidence in her incompetence!
hate to say.. I told you so.
