Talbot - // Give me a case that backs up your theory. //

I do not have access to sufficient evidence to be able to do that - but then again, neither do you - we are both simply debating the issue as it is presented to us.

The Yorkshire Ripper's defense team missed a trick...he could have walked free...imagine a Yorkshireman being described as a Geordie....the ultimate insult.
Talbot. your facetiousness is unbounded .Do give it a rest.

If you want to post things like that, you are not really in a position to criticise anyone else for 'clogging up the thread with nonsense' - are you?

Do you have a response to my point about what I believe to be police procedure, other than simply being rude about it?
Ellipsis, //What am I falling for???//

The establishment’s penchant for encouraging social cohesion at the expense of truth.

//1) in general, do you trust that the police are doing their job to the best of their abilities?//

Generally, yes.

//2) specifically relating to crimes committed by Moslems, do you trust that the police are doing their job to the best of their abilities?//

No.

I’ll ask you the question spath has consistently declined to answer. What do you think of the government’s reason for refusing to grant Asia Bibi asylum?
Naomi - // The establishment’s penchant for encouraging social cohesion at the expense of truth. //

To avoid side-tracking the thread with another case - do you believe that your perceived approach is in evidence in this case?
>What do you think of the government’s reason for refusing to grant Asia Bibi asylum?

When things are not going well there is always a good chance someone will seek to muddy the waters
What’s this talk of ‘clogging up the thread’ about? What nonsense.
naomi - // What’s this talk of ‘clogging up the thread’ about? What nonsense. //

It's about Talbot being rude to me, and then shifting into his usual bear-poking position where he abandons reasoned argument and tries to provoke as much of a reaction as he can get.

And yes - it is nonsense.
Can we just stop with this nonsense?
fiction-factory, //When things are not going well there is always a good chance someone will seek to muddy the waters//

Au contraire. Asia Bibi’s case illustrates the point I’m making perfectly. Keeping the peace is paramount. Rather than attack the messenger – again - perhaps you’d like to have a stab at addressing my question?
Naomi, I reckon that the reason Asia Bibi was refused asylum was that, due to her being in danger of being attacked, the government were afraid of the embarrassment if that happened here.
danny, that isn't the reason they've given - and as I mentioned earlier the European Court of Human Rights has quite shamefully supported an Austrian ruling on a trumped up blasphemy case for the very same reason.

Are people on here seriously telling me that being inaccurately described is a tool for the defence?

Naomi the reason given and the why are not always the same thing. It was just my opinion.
danny, I know it's your opinion.
>Rather than attack the messenger – again - perhaps you’d like to have a stab at addressing my question?
No thanks. I don't know much about it but I am pretty sure she was not described as tanned and had nothing to do with this dreadful attack in Burnley. I recognise teh technique you use though of throwing in other things to muddy the waters and then pressing peole to answer. Has PP mentioned non-sequitur or logical fallacies yet?
The flaws in the OP were established ages ago and I'm surprised some are still supporting this nonsense or at least trying to get some mileage from it.
I'm ready to move onto something sensible
Talbot,// Are people on here seriously telling me that being inaccurately described is a tool for the defence?//
Yes, if it is deliberate. The defence will latch on to anything that throws doubt on to veracity of a prosecution.
> [Ellipsis, you are falling for] the establishment’s penchant for encouraging social cohesion at the expense of truth.

But they've arrested the guy!

This is a conspiracy theory. The idea that cohesion is somehow encouraged by the police deliberately lying and letting a minority get away with things at the expense of a majority - even though in this case, going back to what the thread is about, they've arrested the guy! - and that only a select few - including you, excluding me - are onto them ... wow.
fiction-factory, haha! No surprise there. Bye.
