Why? All we are doing is demonstrating that we are defenceless, no doubt on the altar of some elf n safetee BS.

Maybe they’re debating shooting it down could cause a lot of FOD foreign object damage. Why are they saying it’s not terror related. Cause a lot of disruption = lack of proper security in the rush to get things back to normal.
It'll turn out to be some disgruntled immigrunt whose to blame" Abdul Saranwrap hasn't got his five room house yet.
I suppose that should be "who is" not "whose".
The BBC says they're still looking for the drone. It keeps appearing and disappearing. You can't shoot it down if you can't see it.

(and you are trivialising the issue of stray bullets - these things are extremely dangerous and can travel very far; even a skilled sniper will need multiple shots to take it out at such a high altitude and while it is moving)
Call for assistance from Japanese Whalers.

They don't often miss their target.

The drone can be winched back in for dissection.

If any bystanders object the Whalers will turn the water canons on them.

And the excuse of "scientific research" can be used.
lol Ozzy but not really funny if your flight isn't delayed
Problem solved according to the BBC this morning. Police won't go into the exact details though. Some kind of technology.

great ludders, lets hope they now manage to find the purps eh?
I'm not too sure they will find the perp. I hope I'm wrong. Bet it's a male.
Asst Chief Constable for Sussex says this could result in Life imprisonment if the guilty person is found.
Bring it on I say.
So those heavy old transponders we carried to jam signals which set off IEDs in Central London post Hyde Park Barracks were a waste of time it seems.!! I believe MOD do have the capability but were reluctant to debut it on what would be a Civilian problem.
Kromovaracun ... a sensible answer... banning these things will not stop this kind of incident nor will and exclusion zone, no matter how wide, anyone with knowledge will get one via the dark web and can use it whenever and have they thought if they could get this one down whoever is doing it (a sole person or maybe a gang) may have a few more to use ?
> As well as the people it falls on?

It was over the airfield.

Interesting piece on the Today programme this morning. There's a good chance it was a custom-made job, with different batteries, no radio signal, etc. The only way to take it down quickly would be physically, not electronically.
Quite Retro. I cannot believe the Armed forces dont have something.

Otherwise they would be open to drone attack anywhere in a battle field rendering troops pointless.
'I cannot believe the Armed forces dont have something.'

They have. It's in most news reports.
Various solutions described here...

That's actually Tora himself, Cassa.
"Asst Chief Constable for Sussex says this could result in Life imprisonment if the guilty person is found."

Which confirms the old adage that the very last person who you should turn to for legal advice is a serving police officer (however senior he may be).
