‪Jacob Rees-Mogg's descent is complete. No longer merely the punchline but the whole joke...

Indeed Jim.

Oddly enough the most powerful Brexiteer in parliament at the moment is probably the Leader of the Opposition....
I don't see how anyone can suggest they have been humiliated; one could call into question the lack of support by other members though, who are letting the May deal roll on to be rejected by the EU.
Wait wait!
Someone else is about to think about composing a letter. Jacob’s going to lend them a pen. Or is he ...

I agree about Keith Starmer: a good man surrounded by idiots
His name is Keir!
Krom at 18:02, as things are going I think you're right. I hear a lot of hot air but see no action.

I don't like Keith Starmer. Something about him. I wouldn't trust him an inch.
Oops, so it is. Keir. That's copying and pasting for you. ;o)
Keir sorry! A Rees-Mogg moment there!
If Kier Starmer became Leader of Labour, and JRM leader of the Cons, Labour would win the next G/E with a landslide victory. Guaranteed.
^There you are! Guaranteed! :o)
The MP representing the 19th Century.....don't make me splutter my wine, it's not that old.
Luckily JRM will never get anywhere near leadership of the Tory party
Meanwhile. whilst the Tories and the Communist left ignore the referendum consensus(increasing daily) to quit the EUSSR pyramid scheme, Gerard Batten quietly gathers funds and herds the support in readiness for the next G.E. If he gets enough candidates out there that the marxist and mainstream media cannot traduce, it is a foregone conclusion.
my bet is not BoJo (too many sexual skeletons in his closet, never mind gaffes in the FO and elsewhere) - no my money is a run-off between Handbag Gove and Justine Greening, who is growing into the position....
Question Author
can't see anyone as such as a front runner to lead the Tories.
What are Kier Starmer's politics? I suspect he isn't very left wing so I don't see the Labour membership voting him in.
Question Author
me neither, but politics seems a funny old game where anything can happen.
He's massively to the right of Corbyn, at any rate! I reckon he's closer to "New Labour" than maybe some are comfortable with, but I like him (or, at least, I like him a lot more than Corbyn).
Well if he is close to New Labour, the membership wouldn't vote him in.
Don't forget that Tony New Labour Blair's politics wasn't far off the Tories.
